Jock A Pearson

JOCK PEARSON, a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, and friend, was born on October 30, 1959, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late James Pearson and Evangeline Pearson. He peacefully entered eternal rest on March 11, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, pride, and deep community connection. Jock was educated in the Baltimore City School System, attending Catholic schools before graduating from Walbrook High School. He continued his education at Frostburg State University, where he proudly played football and built lifelong bonds. During his time at Frostburg, Jock pledged his beloved fraternity, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., where he was affectionately known as “Chief Mok Mok.” Not long after, his younger brother, Donn Pearson, joined the brotherhood, deepening a family legacy within the fraternity. Jock carried the spirit of Omega Psi Phi throughout his life. He found joy in the brotherhood, proudly participating in stepping, singing fraternity songs, and embracing traditions that symbolized unity, resilience, and excellence. The bond he shared with his fraternity brothers was one of loyalty, laughter, and unwavering support—truly a brotherhood that extended far beyond his college years. A talented and passionate professional hairstylist, Jock was well known and loved in his community. He specialized in hair coloring and brought beauty and confidence to everyone who sat in his chair. You could always hear him humming or singing his fraternity songs as he worked, filling the space with warmth and familiarity. He worked alongside his mother, sister Beryl, Gwen, and a host of family and friends at the family salon, Satin Topp Beauty Shop, where he became a staple in the lives of many. In addition to his work in the salon, Jock shared his passion for hair as an act of service, caring for the Sisters at the convent alongside his mother, Evangeline. To know Jock was truly to love him. He was kind, gentle, and full of life. He found joy in the simple pleasures—he loved fishing, had a deep appreciation for Western movies, and was a true foodie who enjoyed good meals and good company. With his vibrant personality, Jock also loved to dance and could always be counted on to bring energy and laughter, even showing off his version of the West Coast “Crip Walk”with pride and playfulness. Above all, Jock was a devoted father to his two daughters, Tylisha Pearson and Korrelle Trollmann, whom he loved deeply and spoke of with pride. His love for his family was evident in his presence, his laughter, and the way he showed up for those he cared about. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Davage and Anna Davage; his father, James Pearson; his beloved granddaughter, Kenya Pearson; and his beloved niece, Jewel Christina Harris. He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted mother, Evangeline Pearson; loving daughters, Tylisha Pearson and Korrelle Trollmann; siblings, Avis Stanley, Beryl Cooper, and Donn Pearson; son-in-law, Brandon Trollmann; cherished grandchildren, Taijah Bayton, Keyon Brandon, Jaiden Trollmann, Kamil Trollmann, and Madisyn Trollmann; niece, Martia (Jamaal) Gardner; his nephew, Van Cooper; his godmother, Dorothy Claiborne; godfather, Michael Marshall; special friends, David Wilson and Teresa Wilts; great-nieces, Blake Gardner and Se’daysia Cooper-Lee; along with a host of extended family, fraternity brothers, friends, and community members whose lives he touched. Jock will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, his musical soul, his loyalty to his brotherhood, and his unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he uplifted, the joy he shared, and the deep roots he planted in his community.
