Jilian Eloi

Julian Eloi, the son of late George and Helen Eloi, was born on July 4, 1961 in Dominica, the Nature Isle of the Caribbean and went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 7, 2016. Julian was the devoted husband of Winnie Corriette-Eloi who met in 1979 and married 1991 after a blissful courtship. Above all Julian loved the Lord and accepted Christ into his life as a teenager. He served in several capacities including first elder, preacher, advisor, councilor, youth director of the Christian Union Church and secretary and treasurer of the district Christian Union board in Dominica. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Glen Allen, Virginia. Julian attended the St. Mary’s High School Academy for boys where he graduated valedictorian in 1979. After graduating from college, Julian served as a high school teacher and then went on to pursue a law degree. In 1991 he graduated from the University of the West Indies law school in Barbados and went on to complete a Legal Education Law degree at the Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad, where he graduated in 1993. Julian returned to Dominica in 1993 where he taught law, served as a Public Prosecuting Attorney and was fortunate to work in the capacity of Judge/Magistrate and Director of the Public Prosecuting Attorneys. As an attorney he treated everyone with respect, fairness and dignity and never once did he loose a case. In 1995 he accepted the position of Cooperate Attorney for the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank in St Kitts. Julian migrated to the United States in 1997 where he continued his graduate studies in International Law at Howard University and then furthered his law studies at Miami University, Julian was recently employed by the Brown Greer Law firm in Richmond,Virginia,where he took exceptional pride in his work as a co-operate attorney and claims reviewer. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Winnie Corriette-Eloi,siblings; McMillian Augustus,Rudy Horseford, Marvlyn Pond,Evaltina Eloi,Anthea Eloi,and Alison Eloi-Berridge,father-in-law Stephen Corriette,brothers-in-law;Henry Berridge,Heskieth Pond,Tony Laville,Jeffrey and Terry Payne and numerous nieces,nephews,family,God children and friends.
