Jesse Roosevelt

Jesse Roosevelt Jr., son of the late Jesse and Mattie Roosevelt Sr., was born of December 10, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland. He suddenly departed this life at 7:10 a.m. at Good Samaritan Hospital on July 6, 2003. Jesse was educated in Baltimore City Public Schools. Jesse was employed for many years at Rosewood State Hospital, and more than ten years of service with the Baltimore City Department of Sanitation, he also worked at Camden Yards. The last couple of years he enjoyed working for the John Bond Catering Service.Jesse will also be remembered for his constant support given to his sister Valerie during her college years at Bowie State College.Jesse and Evelyn Allen were united in Holy Matrimony, and from this union one son, Andre Milton Roosevelt was born. The marriage later ended in divorce.Jesse was a devoted brother, uncle and friend. Some of the happiest times of his life were spent with family and friends. He was affectionately called “Jesse Dog,” “Butch,” and many others called him the “Mayor of East Baltimore”.We will miss his fun-loving personality, but we will rejoice in knowing that from the pains and sorrows of this world, Jesse is free at last. Jesse will live in the hearts and memories of the many people's lives he touched. JESSE IS AT PEACE!Jesse leaves to cherish his loving memory: his five children, Andre, Lisa, Darius, Delray and Corey; three grandchildren, Andre Jr., Andrea and Anthony; five sisters, Dorothy Digs, Port Roosevelt, Ruby Roosevelt-Bailey, Thelma Roosevelt-Scott and Libby Roosevelt-Adams (sister, Valerie Roosevelt-Boyd, preceded him in death); brother, Roy M. Roosevelt of Clackamas, Oregon; four brothers-in-law, Merle Diggs, Thomas Scott, Carroll Adams and Henry A. Boyd: sister-in-law, Myra Roosevelt of Clackamas, Oregon; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and friends.He also leaves a devoted companion, Darlene Mont Scott, along with Kennedy and Stephen, who affectionately called him “Pop Lillian Denise Wilkes, daughter of Lillian M. King and Milford David Wilkes was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 28, 1954, and departed this life on July 8, 2003 at Stella Marries Hospice Unit at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.Neicie resided in Baltimore all of her Matured life. She was educated in the Wilmington Delaware public Schools. She was a homemaker. She leaves to mourn her loss: her two children, daughter, Kaniece Wendella Wilkes; and son Robert Antonio David Bullock; two grandchildren, Steven McCoy Antonio Read, Jr., and Shinaye Lashawn Bullock; one brother, Daniel E. Hester of Wilmington, Delaware; a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Two brothers, Wendell G. Wilkes and Jerry W. Wilkes preceded her in death.-Pop”, and enjoyed being with him
