Jerry V. Carter

On August 31, 1974, in Jamaica Queens New York, the world was blessed with the presence of Jerry Vonzell Carter, Sr. He was the beloved son of Jerry Williams and Roslyn Carter. The Lord called this angel home suddenly on Sunday, March 27, 2005.Jerry was educated in the Jamaica Queens school system and later relocated to the Baltimore school system. He spent several years employed with the Baltimore Orioles where everyone loved and adored him. Everyone was truly sad to see him leave the Orioles because of his hard work and dedication to the team. In 2002, he strived in partnership with his brother Robert in founding their own business entitled “Carter and Carter” specializing in lawn care. His most recent employment preceding his death he pursued a career as PC Technical Coordinator with Stanley Inc.; where he traveled from state to state installing complex cabling hookups for PC clusters.In 1997, Jerry joined holy matrimony with LaDell Antaunette Stewart. From that union they had two daughters, Stephanie, and Deniera and one son Jerry Jr. Jerry was a very passionate, loyal, dedicated, humorous and loving person. He gave his life to the Lord at Mt. Pleasant Church and Ministries and attended services with his family. He adored his children and loved his family very much.Jerry enjoyed several sports, basketball, swimming, and baseball. He had a special admiration for fishing. He also enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.Jerry leaves to mourn a dedicated wife, LaDell Carter; three beautiful children, Stephanie, Deniera, and Jerry Carter; a mother, Roslyn Carter; one devoted grandmother, Annie Goodwin; two brothers, Robert and Michael Carter; three sisters, Tonami, Chelley, and Angela Carter; six aunts, Mary, Roberta, Lorrie, Sherrie (who preceded him in death), Catherine and Robin; six nephews, Darius, Robert, Ron’Dell, Brian, Breon, and Michael Jr.; two nieces, Sky and Breona; In-laws, Quentin and Reta Stewart; two sisters-in-law, Chanelle Stewart, and Deneen Carter; one brother-in-law, Quentin Stewart, and a host of other relatives and friends.
