And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you. - Ephesians 4:32 KJV JERRY WILLIAM PRYOR JR., son of the late Jerry William Pryor Sr. and Lucy H. Pryor, was born on December 3, 1938 in Virginia. Jerry departed this life on August 31, 2022. Our beloved Jerry is now in the presence of the Lord. Jerry graduated from Sollers Point High School in Turner Station. While attending Sollers Point he played varsity basketball and ran track. He joined the military and served his country in the United States Army. He married the late Catherine (Jones) Pryor and from this union they gave birth to their precious son, Jerry William Pryor II. Jerry was an excellent salesman at Kauffman’s Department Store for over 25 years. While working at Kaufman’s he had an opportunity to model men’s clothing for the store’s paper advertisement. He also worked for The Johns Hopkins Hospital and later Provident Bank, from which he retired. In his early years he attended Saint Matthew’s Methodist Church in Turner Station. He gave his life to the Lord at Mount Pleasant Church and Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Clifford M. Johnson Jr., whom he dearly loved. He was a devoted member serving on the Usher Board, Evangelism Team, Operation Timothy, was a graduate of the 21st Century Knights and helped wherever needed. Jerry had a witty sense of humor and kept people laughing. He enjoyed solving Sudoku puzzles. His favorite pastime was taking a walk through the neighborhood, visiting Northeast Market and sharing the goodness of the Lord wherever he went. He was an avid reader of the Bible. His favorite scripture was Ephesians 4:32 and his favorite song was “Jesus is Love.” He is preceded in death by his brother Charles L. Pryor, Sr Jerry leaves to cherish his loving memory: son, Jerry William Pryor II; sister, Connie Burnes; sister-in-law, Brenda Pryor; granddaughter, Ingenue Pryor; a longtime friend, Ms. Louise Prince (and children); several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
