JERRY CORNELIUS WILLIAMS, SR., favorably known as “Ricky’, was born on October 1, 1952 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Lela Bell Crawford-Williams and the late David Williams, Sr. OUR MERCIFUL GOD called Ricky home on Tuesday, March 21, 2006.Ricky attended the public school system and later acquired the knowledge of the trade of auto mechanical expertise and his signature smile. He had a good heart and shared much with so many. He was short in stature and long on personality. A better friend than Ricky was hard to find. He had a personal relationship with his Savior and quite often spoke of his Love of the Lord to many. He professed his faith by baptism several years ago.In 1979, Ricky married his saintly childhood sweetheart, Denise Johnson, who has preceded him in an early death by illness. The blessed union produced, and leaves to mourn…proud older son: Jerry Cornelius Williams, Jr. (his children: Rikia, 7, and Azzuren, 2); proud younger son, Jermaine Williams; and dutiful, loving daughter, Janelle ‘Buffy’ Williams (and her children, Malik, 9 and Macie, 7).Also in mourning are two sisters, Vera Bownes and Mary Kendall; three brothers, David Williams, Jr., Louis Williams, Sr. and Jesse Williams; in mourning are six sisters-in-law; Celestine Williams, Lavene Williams, Nadine Williams, Elise Johnson, Midia Johsno, Vernet Myles; three brothers-in-law, Clyde Johnson, Sidney Johnson, and Clarence Kendall. Aunts, Ernestine Traynham, Pearlie Wallace, Thelma Crawford, a great-aunt, Lilly Wallace and an uncle, William Crawford, and many, many relatives and friends. A close friend, Jimmy Cromartie, was alike a brother.Ricky’s life was not complete without his very dedicated companion of nine year, Betty Davis and her daughter, Lavonne Edwards, who both remained by Ricky’s side during his severe illness. Ricky had the gift of humor and love accompanied always by his generous and sincere tight-eye smiles, at times even smitten with tears of joy of his family.Ricky did not lose his generous smile no matter how much pain he suffered. He will be remembered for his constant greasy hands, enjoying the messy labor of repairing engines, they were hard, heavy and very difficult jobs, but not too much a challenge for the man short in stature, but taller than a Goliath when it came to getting the job done. He could fix your car and fix your attitude just by the sharing of his grin.He was a proud son of God the Father, and prepared himself hesitantly, yet, un-doubtful to take on his heavenly robe waiting in the family mansion above.He traveled a rough road near the end of his journey and was eager to hear the words
