JeRoyd Antoine Strother

JeRoyd Antoine Strother(Dyore),born January 27,1972,in Richmond,VA,transitioned into the arms of the Lord on February 8,2013. He leaves to cherish his memory,son,Justin Strother;loving and devoted mother,Florence Strother;three aunts,Shirley Watkins,Delorious Saunders and devoted,Annie George;great-aunt,Cecilia Cole(Robert);three uncles,Bishop Melvin Strother(Marva),James Tiller (Rosalyn);and a devoted uncle and aunt,Alvin and Betty Strother;one great-uncle,Tommie Tiller(Judy);loving and devoted friend,Tracey Brown and daughters and a host of relatives and friends. JeRoyd accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 11 at New Friendship Church of Christ,Richmond,VA. JeRoyd graduated from Henrico High School in 1990,with the esteemed honor of class clown,then attended J. Sergeant Reynolds Commumity College,where he majored in Marketing. Upon completing his education,JeRoyd began a career in the field of his chosen major. While some are never truly HEARD in life,Dyore(his chosen stage-name) expressed warmth,charm,charisma,depth of spirit and knowledge in the magic he wove into his words. Dyore's true passion for life shone brightly through his natural and uplifing mastery of art through music and spoken word. Never afraid to tell,in his own unique comedic style,the dates of life & love,Dyore's passion for words led him to performing as an MC and poet. He became a founding member and/or integral part of several influentialartistic organizations in the Richmond area such as: *Tuesday Verses * Lyric Ave *Slam Richmond *Say Word Tuesday Verses and Lyric Ave,in particular,were his extended family,sanctuary,creative outlet and sounding board for all he brought to this life. Through these relationships,the door opened for him to have the opportunity to share his spirit and talent elsewhere. Having an affinity for children,he hosted several events and performed at Hanover Juvenile Correctional Center,Richond City,Henrico County and Dinwiddie County Public School systems,Art 180,Recs and Parks,Boys and Girls Club,and several other youth programs throughtout the area along with a host of colleges and universities. He also engaged in several performances with the Elegba Folklore Society(Down Home Family Reunion,Capital City Kwanzaa Celebration & Juneteenth Celebration) and Happily Natural Day to which he gave his total dedication of spirit and talent. Dyore managed to share his God given talents with everyone he encountered,enhancing the lives of all around him. If you were down,he would lift you up. If you needed to smile,he would encourage laughter. All he gave to us was positive and bright. He gave of himself with selflessness,humor,and total dedication to making you see the joy of truly living and loving life. And we did..through the joy that was His life.
