Jerome Woodrow Washington, Jr.

JEROME WOODROW WASHINGTON, JR. was born was born on July 16, 1960, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Helen Virginia Washington of Lynchburg, and Jerome Woodrow Washington, Sr. of Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this earth on the evening of September 28, 2025. Jerome received his formal education within the Baltimore City Public School System. He attended Abbottston Elementary School, Cold Stream Middle School, and Baltimore City College High School. While attending City College High School he became a star lacrosse player. In 1977, Jerome graduated as a member of the last all -male class before the school became coed. In 1978, Jerome enlisted into the United States Army. He was stationed in Fort Bliss, Texas until 1981. He was then transferred to El Paso, Texas where he was thrilled because he would be close to family and have the opportunity to bond with his cousins, Billy and Crystal. Jerome served 7 years in the Army achieving the rank of sergeant before being honorably discharged. After military life, Jerome continued his work career as a Baltimore City Municipal Employee working for the Department of Environmental Services. He was a prevalent member and mentor of his assigned team. He received a Governor’s Citation for his outstanding service. Once Jerome retired from the Baltimore City Municipal Department he engages in several hobbies. Much like his father, he was very creative. He enjoyed painting, creating portraits, carpentry, home repairs, and working on cars, He was well known for his extensive music collection with artists. Like Parliament Funkadelic, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Bootsy Collins to name a few. His collection, consisted of countless vinyl records, cassette tapes. And compact discs. Jerome is also known for his love of football. The Baltimore Ravens being one of his favorite teams. When the game was on, it was Romie’s time off He even wore a sign that stated: “Don’t Bother Me…the Game is on’ Jerome was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Washington, his younger brother, Carl Washington and his beloved niece, Teaira Jackson He leaves behind many memories to cherish by his daughter, Tiesha Washington and his grandchildren, Kendall, Amaria, and Kylan; his father, Jerome Washington Sr.; his sister Sonia Washington, Velda Washington – Stewart (James Stewart) and Revonda Washington; his niece Candace Smith and her children; his nephew, Dominic Washington, his girlfriend, Inez Clowney; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
