Jerome A.L. Johnson

Life's Reflections Today, we celebrate the life of Jerome A. L. Johnson, who peacefully transitioned from his earthly life on June 12, 2024. Jerome was born on August 4, 1940, to the late Lucion A. Johnson, Sr. and Dorothy Vernell Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Lucion A. Johnson, Jr. Jerome attended Virginia Randolph High School where he ran track and played football. Jerome was a member of Sharon Baptist Church, Richmond, Virginia. However, he later joined First Shiloh Baptist Church after his marriage to his loving wife, Sharon. Jerome had many accomplishments during his life. One notably, being a published co-author of the novel, “Nightman.” He was the owner of Johnson's Janitorial Service. Jerome also worked for Emmanuel Episcopal Church for 20 years, where he was dearly loved. Jerome is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon W. Johnson; two children, Jerome Johnson, Jr. (Charlene) and Bridgette Taylor (George); two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Yvettee Lynch; two nieces, BrèOnne Davis and devoted Tamara McEachin; devoted nephew Brandon Short; great-niece, Samia McEachin; and other relatives and friends. “When Tomorrow Starts Without Me” When tomorrow starts without me, and I’m not here to see If the sun should rise and find your eyes filled with tears for me I wish you wouldn’t cry the way you did today, While thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say. I know how much you love me, as much as I love you, And each time that you think of me, I know you will miss me too But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, That an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand. And said my place was ready, in heaven far above And that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love. When I walked through Heaven’s Gates, I felt so much at home, When God looked down and smiled at me, from his golden throne. He said, “This is eternity, and all I promised you Today for life on earth is past, but here it starts anew.” So, when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart For every time you think of me, I am here in your heart
