Jeffrey Lamont Smith

Jeffrey “ J-rock” Lamont Smith, 32, departed this life suddenly on December 17, 2011. Jeffrey was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the parents of Brenda Richardson and George Wallen Smith on October 23, 1979. Jeffery attended Baltimore City Public School until completing his education. He attended Guilford Elementary, Roland Park Middle, and Frankford School. Later, Jeffrey returned to school to obtain his GED. Jeffrey worked several job, but spent his later working years as a skilled maintenance man fixing thing around the house and completing odd job for family members, particularly his mother and grandmother, Vivian. One of his most Cherish past-time was spending time with his family and friends. “J-rock” as he was affectionately known by his friend and family alike enjoyed cooking, fishing, telling jokes and gatherings. To know Jeffrey was to know laughter. He was always the life of the party, no matter what the function. Laughter was something that came so naturally to him, this was his gift. His smile radiated throughout a room upon his entrance. Every opportunity that presented itself, Jeffrey offered a joke to created a room full of laughter. He had a kind spirit, one of giving and helpfulness. Whenever asked to assist, Jeff was always willing to lend a hand. Children loved Jeff, as did he love them. They gravitated toward him whenever family gathered. One of his most important responsibilities was fathering his son, Lamontae, a splitting image of his dad. Lamont and Jeffrey had a very special bond, one that will truly be missed. He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Lamontae Dashaun Smith, Parents, Brenda Witherspoon and George Wallen Smith; Grandparents, Vivian and Henry English; Great-grandmother, Evangelist Thelma Bland; Sister, Trevira Latt'e Richardson and Cherey E. Smith- Cottingham; Brother, Nathaniel Witherspoon, Step-brother, Keith Witherspoon; two uncles, Larry Richardson and Darren James; Four aunts, Michelle Richardson, Carone Richardson, Wanda Richardson and Florence Richardson; six great-aunts, five great-uncles, a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, and friends . Longtime friend and mother of Lamontae, Keisha Jackson and devoted friend Shanny. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Marshall Richardson,Jr.
