Jeanene Anita Robinson

The Celebration of life of Jeanene Anita Robinson “And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you,” John 16:22. Today the immediate family of Jeanene Anita Robinson welcomes all of her friends and those who touched her life to join us as we celebrate Jeanene’s homegoing. Jeanene was born November 1, 1959, in Baltimore, Maryland as the middle daughter of a set of triplets, Jeanette, Jeanene, and Jeanese. Her parents were the late Jerome Robinson Sr. born in Greensboro North Carolina and her mother Barbara Ann Robinson (still living) was born in Alexander City Alabama. Jeanene’s siblings were two sisters, Jericka Ann Robinson and Jeanese Anetta Conway, and one brother, Jerome Robinson Jr. Jeanene first attended elementary schools in Baltimore City. She later attended schools in Baltimore County and graduated from Milford Mill High in June 1978. In 2014 she earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Coppin State University in Baltimore Maryland. Jeanene served in the United States Army for 24 years. While in Army she was deployed to Kuwait for two years. Jeanene was a Christian woman and was honored and proud that she and her family –––husband, children and grandchildren––– were members of Faith Christian Worship Center where she sang on the choir. Following ten years of friendship, Jeanene and her long-time friend, Sgt. Gregory Keys were married on March 15, 2010, and shared fifteen years of love and devotion. Gregory Keys was the father-figure of Jeanene’s children born from a previous marriage. To know Jeanene was to love her. Like her father, Jeanene had a great sense of humor and made those who came in contact with her feel like she had known them a long time. Her quick wit and penchant for telling jokes always made people feel at ease around her. She enjoyed laughing, traveling and eating crabs with her family every Sunday. She enjoyed many things in life but nothing compared to her relationship with the three people she called her life-lines, her children, daughter, Tyneisha (fondly called Tee-Tee,) and sons Lybryant and Joshua. Jeanene was gifted with four grandchildren, she called her little heartbeats and they lovingly called her (Gee-Gee) for Grandmother Gorgeous. Jeanene leaves behind to mourn her absence the following people: her mother retired State Senator Barbara Ann Robinson, her devoted husband Gregory Keys, her daughter Tyneisha Polk, two sons Lybryant Polk and Joshua Blackwell, four grandchildren: Carlos Harrison, Liam Blackwell, Aubree Fowlkes, and Amir Blackwell, Drew Blackwell, two sisters Jericka Ann Robinson and Jeanese Anettta Conway, one brother, Jerome Robinson Jr. a niece Bianca Robinson, a nephew Jerome Robinson, III, one great niece, Brooklyn Santos, her mother-in-law Elizabeth Mae Davis, three sisters-in-law Toya Davis, Angela Davis and April Rena Davis, three brothers-in-law, Robert Keys, John Keys and Tyrone Keys, all from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, her first husband Tyrone Polk to whom she was married for several years and was the father of Lybryant and Tyneisha Polk, a special friend, Dwayne Blackwell the father of Joshua Blackwell, two aunts Madeline McNeil of Greensboro North Carolina, and Sandra Lee Cofield-Burris of Boston Massachusetts, one uncle Alphonza Dean Cofield of Baltimore, Maryland, a lifelong sister-friend Vada Goines in Baltimore, Maryland, two god-daughters Myla Jones and Mylynn Jones in Baltimore, Maryland and a host of cousins and dear friends.
