Jasper Gardner

JASPER GARDNER, affectionately known as “Hosea,” was born to the late Rosa Gardner and Robert Gardner Sr., on October 28, 1961, in Florence, South Carolina. He departed this life on June 24, 2026. Jasper was educated at Northwestern High School, where he was well known for his love of basketball, shining brightly on the court and receiving numerous accolades. In his adult years, Jasper worked at Seidman Glass Company, where he cut, installed, and delivered glass. He later transitioned to Caplan Brothers Glass Company as a ‘Glazier’, specializing in cutting, fitting, and installing glass for residential and commercial properties. Jasper also shared his culinary talents at Bertucci’s Restaurants as a ‘Traveling Training Chef ’, visiting various locations to train new employees. He later switched careers and joined the Fuchs Gruppe Spice and Seasoning Company as an ‘Industrial Sanitation Hygienist’ specializing in cleaning and sanitizing industrial spice machines, which involved removing residual oils, preventing cross-contamination, and eliminating allergens. He was a dedicated employee there for 10 years, ensuring the highest standards of safety and cleanliness, until the day the Lord called him home. Jasper’s happy place was in the kitchen, and he possessed a deep passion for cooking, especially Sunday dinners. He had a refined appreciation for sports and was a die-hard sports connoisseur, keeping up with the expert details and statistics of professional and college football, basketball, soccer, hockey, the World Cup, and the Olympics. He also loved R&B and Jazz music. Jasper was a happy, loving, humble, and down-to-earth person who was full of laughter and jokes. He had a big heart, a generous spirit, and an infectious smile that always made everyone feel welcome. He made numerous friends over the years and will be sincerely missed. Jasper was preceded in death by his loving mother Rosa Gardner, father Robert Gardner Sr., and younger brother Robert Gardner Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory: three beautiful children shared with Brenda Frederick: his daughter, Shannon Gardner and his two sons, Sean Gardner and Corey Gardner. He is also survived by his devoted partner, Elaine Purvey; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
