Jason Tyrone Carter

Jason Tyrone Carter was born May 31, 1975, to the late James and Hazel Carter. He was called from labor to reward on July 30, 2017 at VCU Medical Center. Jason's early walk of faith was of Christianity; he later converted to the Sunni-Muslim faith. Jason studied the Koran faithfully and learned to speak Arabic fluently. He studied religion to seek greater understanding, as well, respected the Christianity faith because the two entwined. Jason attended the Goochland County Public School System and completed his GED early in life. As a young child, he loved riding his dirt bike, taking his toys apart, (and his father's things as well) just to see if he could make them work better! Jason had many talents and skills that contributed towards him becoming a self-made entrepreneur. He worked very hard to pass all of the Virginia State Board examinations for each trade that he pursued. Jason earned certification for each of his careers: Certified Mechanic, Certified Auto Body Technician Mechanic, Licensed Barber and Stylist, Professional Landscaper, and Licensed Home Contractor. Jason was the proud owner and operator of True Professional Services. Jason was preceded in death by his devoted parents and his nephew, Wayne Justin Carter. He leaves to cherish his memory, loving wife, Marva Crawley Carter; son, Zahir Carter-Branch; mother-in-law, Gwendolyn Crawley; father-in-law, Raymond Crawley; sisters, Amanda Carter-Valencia and Melissa Carter; brother-in-law, Michael "Chi" Crawley, Sr.; stepson, Trevon Dabney; stepdaughter, Tiffany Davis; nieces, Clara Johnson, Gartasia, Madison, and Myah Crawley, and Zemora Robinson; nephews, Christopher and Arthur Johnson, Kyle Carter, and Michael Crawley Jr.; great-nieces, London Johnson and Karter Blair; great-nephew, Arthur Johnson, IV; devoted uncle, Robert Curtis Carter; aunts, Doris Fields, Carolyn Bryant, and Judy Snead; devoted cousins, Reginald "Reggie" Burton Sr., Reginald "Duke" Burton Jr., Ralph Bates, Terrell Snead, and Corey Carter; devoted friends, Daryl Houchens, Jarvis Spain, Maurice Christian, Ervin Johns,Lamont Allen, and Charles Creshaw.
