Janice M. Wilburn

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest." — Matthew 11:28 Janice Maria Wilburn, the daughter of Brenda M. Banks and the late Donald D. Ferges was born on June 14, 1963, in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on September 10, 2016. Janice received her education in the Baltimore Public School System. She married John Wilburn and together they had three children. She was a member of Victory Prayer Chapel since she was a teen and attended up until a few weeks before her passing when she became very ill. She loved her church, looked forward to fellowshipping with the saints and most of all her family. Her favorite moments were listening to the youth choir sing the songs of praises. She would always support them by clapping and singing along, even if she didn't always know the words. Janice was most known for her beautiful, loving spirit that was shown not only to those whom she loved, but especially to her mother who she adored. Her most memorable quote to her loved ones was, "I love you soooo much!" She rarely missed an opportunity to share God's word and her favorite scriptures were "Psalm 23 and Psalm 103. Her encouraging words were often heard when someone was in trouble or had a need. She would put others first and was sincerely a "cheerful giver," willing to share whatever she had, even if it was very little. She had a talent for nurturing plants and flowers and used her "green thumb" on occasions to earn money doing gardening. Also, Janice loved to write lyrics to songs she created and looked forward to sharing them with others. Cooking interesting and exotic foods was also something she enjoyed doing but most of all she loved her children and taking care of her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her sister, Yvette Ferges; grandparents: Ella Mae Ross and Louis Ross; grandfather, Hamilton Carter; father, Donald Ferges and grandmother, Molly Ferges. She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Brenda Banks, (Raymond Banks); daughter, Leviticus Wilburn-Daniels, (James Daniels); sons, Jeremiah Wilburn and Nehemiah Wilburn; one sister, Tammy Ferges; brother, Walter Grant, Jr. (Lori Grant); aunts, Delores Banks, Tina Banks, Tanya Carter; a special and dear aunt, Adrienne McGuire, (Glend McGuire, Jr.); uncles, James Carter, Leon Carter, Daniel Carter; grandchildren, Jaslynne Daniels, Melodie Daniels, Harmynie Daniels, Josia Daniels, Neveah Wilburn; and a host of other relatives, friends and her loving church family.
