Janice E. Harris

Janice Eileine Harris, affectively known as "Diya" or "Baby Twin" departed this life on March 3, 2026. Daughter of the late Clifford J. Hendricks, Sr. and Jimmie Tyler (nee Harding), Janice was born on October 31, 1956, along with her twin sister, Janet, in Grafenwöhr, Germany. Soon after, the family moved back to the U.S. In 1958, the family joined St. Veronica Roman Catholic Church where Janice received her sacraments. Janice was raised in the Westport Community where she gained many friends and learned to play sports. Janice was an avid softball player where she earned many awards, trophies, and accolades. She received her education within the Baltimore City Public School System. In 1914, Janice met the love of her lite, Jhan Harris. They entered into Holy Matrimony in 1982 and trom that union came six children. Janice, was a devoted and loving wite to her husband for 44 years. After graduating from Strayer Business College, Janice was employed by the City of Baltimore for over 20 years at the Mayor's Station of Cherry Hill, which later became the Mayor's Community Action Center. Janice had a gift for bringing people together, finding joy in socializing and sharing love with everyone around her. She often hosted family gatherings at her home, welcoming all to come together to eat, dance, and cherish one another. One of her greatest joys was celebrating Halloween. Where she looked forward to giving out tons of candy in honor of her birthday. Janice was a stern and loving mother to many children and a best friend to her grandchildren. She also was a loving and caring aunt to many nieces and nephews, whom she loved as her own. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister, Janet Jones; sister, Karen Hendricks; mother-in-law, Joan Wright; nephew, Mark Eaton, and grandson, Jaden Harris. Janice leaves to cherish her memory: her Husband, Deacon Jhan Harris; children, Javon, Jason (Nicole), Janet, Jabari, Miyarah, and Khalia; her siblings, Cynthia, Barbara, Gayle and Clifford (Wendy); her grandsons, Javari and Jordan "Matthew" , as well as a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, close friends, and associates.
