We watched you slowly pass away We prayed so hard for you to stay But now we realize that God knows best So He called you from suffering, so you may rest. Jane Boyd Macklin, 80, of Richmond, Virginia was granted her angel wings on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 by her Lord and Savior. "Baby Dump", as she was affectionately known, was born in Brunswick County, Virginia August 10, 1937 to the late Bernard and Sarah Boyd. At the early age of 12, Jane accepted Christ and was baptized at the Meherrin Baptist Church in Broadnax, Virginia. She attended James Solomon Russell High School in Lawrenceville, Virginia. In the early '70s, she relocated to Richmond, Virginia. For 20 years, she was a loyal employee of the Medical College of Virginia in the Environmental Services Department until her retirement on June 30, 1997. During retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family, chatting on the phone with family and friends, socializing with close friends, playing Spades, fishing, attending gospel programs and going to yard sales. To know her, was to love her. Her motto was "Family, friends, food, fellowship and fun." Jane had a home that was open to all that needed her. She was a spiritual giver to the end. Jane was preceded in death by her three brothers, Milton, Rufus and Clayton; and grandson, Randolph Cannon, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Gloria (Bernard), Sandra, Shelia (Robert), Tracey (Dennis); 2 sons, Major (Mary) and Monte (Monique); 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Matthew Alston, Gregory Macklin, Craig Macklin, Gwendolyn Robinson and Nichole Reid; 5 adored siblings, Merriel Evans (George), Barbara Durham (George), Sarah Boyd, Charles Boyd and Bernard "Bay" Boyd; sister-in-law, Joan Boyd; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and caring friends, Mary Weaver and Carrie Daniels.
