James Percell Tinsley

James Percell Tinsley was born December 2, 1947 to Lewis and the late Blanche Tinsley in Goochland, VA. He transitioned from his earthly labor to receive his divine reward on Thursday, October 6, 2016. James accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior at an early age at Rising Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Goochland. He rededicated his life and walk with the Lord in 1991. James married the beautiful Constance Harris (Connie), on April 27, 1991, whom he loved and cherished for more than 25 years. Together they joined Victory Tabernacle Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member until he went home to be with his Lord. James received his formal education in the Goochland Public School system. He received his certification as a licensed Auto Mechanics and a VA State Inspection Officer. James was employed with Bishop’s Auto Service for over 30 years. After leaving Bishop’s Auto, he became an entrepreneur and established Tinsley’s General Contracting, where he continued to work until his health began to decline. James enjoyed life to its fullest. He loved and cherished spending time with his family and grandchildren, and enjoyed traveling and reading. He also enjoyed building race cars, auto racing, attending car shows, fishing and hunting. He was a jack of all trades and his passion for building things with his hands allowed him the opportunity to share his gifts and talents to whomever was in need. James leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Constance(Connie),father, Lewis Tinsley,Stepmother,Clara Tinsley, four loving children, Vincent Tinsley(Sheta),Jameka L. Smith,Keyonda K. Tawiah(Maxwell),Keith P. Cooper,Jr.(Jessica)11 grandchildren, Kiara and Chad Grooms,Jr.,Darius,Darien,and Jadya Tinsley,Myanna & Mariah Rivers, Kayla Taylor, and Armare,Ava and Ashton Cooper. Two sisters, Beverly Allen, and Brenda Jones(Jimmy),three brothers, Danny Joe,Lewis,and John Edward Tinsley(Cynthia),four step-sisters,12 step brothers,11 sisters-in-law,16 brothers-in-law. One loving aunt, Ms. Emma Jean Wells, and a loving mother-in-law, Ms. Sarah B. Harris. James devoted friends were Eugene Wells, Henry Burrell, Oliver Prosiser,James Battle, Lawrence Upshur, and Maurice Ward. James had a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who he loved and treasured.
