Life’s Reflections James Franklin Temple, Sr., affectionately known as "Frank," peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. Born on March 6, 1953, in Aylett, King William County, Virginia, to the late Thomas and Mary Temple Berkeley, Frank’s journey was marked by love, service, and cherished connections. At an early age, Frank embraced his faith, becoming a member of St. Paul Baptist Church in King William, where he was baptized. He pursued his education within the halls of King William County Public Schools before later establishing his home in Maryland. For 36 dedicated years, Frank served the District of Columbia (D.C.) Public School system, leaving his mark through his commitment and hard work. Beyond his professional endeavors, Frank was a pillar of support for his family and friends, always ready to lend a helping hand, particularly when it came to their HVAC needs. As an enthusiast of sports, fishing and classic race cars, Frank's passions were evident to all who knew him. His unwavering loyalty to the Redskins (now the Commanders), fishing trips, and his love for vintage race cars were constants in his life. Often found amidst the camaraderie of King William, Frank shared cherished moments with his brothers, bonding over their mutual love for race cars, attending races and shows together. Being a grandfather brought immeasurable joy into Frank’s life. Frank is survived by his devoted wife of many years, Janet Temple, his sons James Lamar Becton and James Temple Jr. (Tiara), his daughter Javon Temple, and cherished grandchildren James Fenwick, Xarea Moody, Jalen Donaldson, Jayla Becton, Jasaani Becton, and Jace Temple. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jessie Temple Stevens. He is survived by his sister, Mary Louise Miller (Jerome), and brothers Carl Berkeley (Lucinda), Thurman Berkeley (Karen), Wallace Berkeley (Gayle), Floyd Berkeley (Lina), Bruce Berkeley, and Brent Berkeley (Donna), along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In the hearts of those who knew him, Frank's spirit will forever live on, a testament to a life lived with purpose, passion, and profound love.
