James Alonzo Flannagan Jr.

Bishop James A. Flannagan, Jr. was born on March 10, 1937 in Charlottesville, Virginia to James Flanagan and Ruby Allen. Bishop accepted Christ at an early age. He was educated in the Louisa County Public Schools and received a BA Degree from Virginia State University and a Master's Degree from University of Virginia. He departed this life into the glorious arms of Jesus on November 1, 2018. Bishop married the love of his life, Dr. Jean Flannagan on June 29, 1963 after a courtship that lasted more than four years. From this union, a son, James A. Flannagan III, was born. Bishop was a devoted husband, father, Pastor, friend, and a mighty man of God. Bishop Flannagan was ordained into the Ministry in 1991...He and Pastor Jean established Nothing Impossible Fellowship in Reston, VA. and were the Pastors of Endtime Tabernacle International in Sandston, Virginia from 1995 until his death. Wherever the Lord directed his steps, Bishop walked. He served as Sunday School Teacher, Bible Study Teacher, Food Bank Committee. .. After graduation from Virginia State University, Bishop taught agriculture in Louisa County Public Schools until he was offered a principal position at A. G. Despot Elementary. He then moved to an assistant principal and guidance counselor in Spotsylvania County Public Schools. He also served as a guidance counselor, assistant principal and other positions with the Fairfax County School System. In addition, to his positions in the school system, he was the owner and founder of Jim's Grass Service. He was also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. In addition to his wife and son, Bishop is survived by a host of relatives and friends, including devoted caregiver Farmisha Tinsley and friend James Pascal. He was preceded in death by his brother Charlie Lewis and sister Clara Johnson. Bishop Flannagan will be remembered for his reverence to God, his giving and kind spirit, his love of family and his smile. He will be missed.
