James Edward Bee

JAMES EDWARD BEE, affectionately known as “Eddie “, son of Richard Bee, Sr. and Ratha F. Bee was born October 14, 1940 in Harlem, New York. He left earthly home on July 17, 2015, in the presence of loved ones, quietly and peacefully. After a lengthy illness, God gave him “the peace that surpasses all understanding”. Eddie 's early education included St. Frances Academy Elementary School and St. Emma's Military Academy in Rock Castle, Virginia. Later, he graduated from Dunbar High School in Baltimore, MD and studied at the University of MD and Morgan University. Throughout his life, Eddie was a “life long leaner”. From the foundational teachings of his parents, to the education of the streets, to the occupational trades, to the Diaconate and through continuous Scripture study, Eddie knew about life. He even experienced the “school of hard knocks” because worldly Life” was more fun (he thought) while young, However, the Christian foundational seed planted by his parents was still growing while he was exploring. God's hand of mercy was upon him. When he let Jesus come in , his true life began. His parents gave him the foundation but gave him the salvation! He also accredited the Lord for finding him his wife of over 34 years. Kay, together, they experienced the blessings of the Lord and made life in Christ the priority. Eddie was ordained a deacon in the Archdiocese of Baltimore in 1986 and served at St. Ann's Church (Baltimore). He had a very strong devotion to be Eucharist and Blessed Mother. Also among the greatest joys was his son, Andre He enjoyed the time they spent together, often with playful competition between them. He welcomed the profound talks they had. Eddie , Kay and Andre had a special bond. Eddie acquired training and electricity and electronics and taught himself in video production. He worked for Bethlehem Steel Corp. Armco Steel , subcontractors at the Coast Guard Yard and bruining Paint as an industrial maintenance mechanic. He retired in the early 2000's for health reasons. He was fun ! He tried to hide his gentle side but deep within he was a generous, loving person Eddie also was a huge fan of Notre Dame football, sad when they lost and jubilant when they won. He won tee shirts with their logo or words and even tried to schedule vacation where their games would be broadcast. He loved, food, playing videos games, chess, travel, roller coasters, corvette and camaro cars. The enjoyed special times with people including his god-son, Justin Grier and the church family of St. Ann's. He leaves to mourn but celebrate his redeemed life his wife, Kay; son, Andre; sister, Florence Ricks; sister, Deborah Reid; brother, Richard Bee, Jr; brother, Freddie Bee; brother Delano Bee; one brother-in-law, three sisters-in-law, one daughter-in-law, aunts, many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends
