Jamal H Wright

Jamal Hassan Wright was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 4, 1997 to the proud parents, Carlton Wright and Josephine DeJesus. In 2017, Jamal met the love of his life, Malaun Moore in college at Delaware State University, where they later married on September 2021. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Noa River Wright (3yrs. old) and Natalie Grace Wright (2 months old). Jamal's life and career embodied helping others feel safe. To that end, Jamal worked full time at P. Change Special Police and security part-time at Blue Moon in Washington, D.C. Jamal excelled in his career. One of the owners of Blue Moon said that Jamal was "the best security he had in 15 years of business." Jamal was also known for his heroic acts of bravery. He would selflessly run towards danger without a second thought. While at work at the Blue Moon he and his partner Officer Anton Tol sprung into action to save a young man's life who was shot in the chest. They worked to keep him alive while waiting for the EMT. He loved what he did and did it in excellence. Jamal was a very hardworking man who maintained several jobs to support his family. Jamal was a 1st Degree blackbelt in Shotokan Karate and had a great love for the art. It was his way of life. Jamal leaves behind a wife, Malaun Wright, two beautiful daughters, Noa River Wright and Natalie Wright; his sisters and brothers, Nekiba Wright, Darrell J. Francis, Thomas Little, Na'im Wright, Zion Wright, Serene Wright, Kai Wright, Na'ima Wright, Blessings Wright, Kamari Wright, Bahsheem Matheny, Yadira Walters, Marquis Rosado and Myrna Lobon. He also left behind six nieces, Ivyanna Greene, Victoria Wright, Josephine Mathney, Aubrey Bazemore, Joi Walters and Soriyah Walters, six nephews, Cephas Wright, Savion Jackson, Lexington Bazemore, David Walters, Noah Walters and Keyan Mathney. Four brothers-in-law and a bonus mother-in-law, along with a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Jamal will be greatly missed but has gone home to be with his Abuela Josephine DeJesus and Abuelo Jose Antonio DeJesus. He is now part of "the great cloud of witnesses" who have gone before us and whose examples of faith we are now to follow. Jamal has ran a good race and is now hearing, "Well done, good and faithful servant." Jamal's favorite saying would, "Everything happens for a reason don't worry and trust GOD"
