Jake C Price, Jr.

Jake C. Price, Jr was born June 18, 1925 in Chester County South Carolina to the late Jake Price, Sr. and to the late Caroline Thompson Price. He was the youngest son and last of thirteen children to pass on. After a long battle of illness, he departed this life on May 11, 2016. God knew that he was tired and he called him home to be at rest, no more pain. He accepted Christ at an early age and rededicated himself in 2005 at Greater New Hope Baptist Church. He loved to cook and would invite people over for Sunday dinner to show off his Culinary skills. Jake was also a great dancer. Jake was educated in the Chester County School System until he enter the United States Navy. After many years of being in the Navy, he later relocated with his first wife Luvenia Sanders to Baltimore, Maryland . From this union was one child and they adopted a niece and nephew. This union eventually ended in divorce. He later married the late Mamie Jones and from this union eight children. Jake was employed at Bethlehem Steel Corporation as a welder. After 32 years he retired, JC as he was affectionately known by his family and friends was an avid Ravens and Oriole fan. He loved to walk and you would always see him walking somewhere in Baltimore before he lost his sight. As he got older and lost his sight he would enjoy attending The Paradise Adult Day Care. Where he would often reminisce with his fellow war mates. He also enjoyed listening to the morning church service at the daycare center. He was preceded in death by his wife Mamie Price; son Jake Chris Price III; grandson, Kenneth Price. He leaves to cherish his memory and continue in legacy to four generations, his children; Carolyn (Willie) Mayers, Marjorie Price, Barbara (Jerry) McClain, Jill Price, Sarah (Ernest) Taylor, Verlena Price, Robbie (Willie) Bradley, David (Fawn) Price, Peter (Catrina) Price, and Robert Price. A devoted and special granddaughter Robin Carter; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren 2 great greatchildren; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and other special family members and friends too numerous to name. He will surely be missed.
