Jacqueline Antoinette Hopkins the beloved daughter of Edith Hopkins and the late John Hopkins departed this earthly life on November 1, 2004.Jacqueline was affectionately known to her family and friends as Jaki. She was the thirteenth child of fourteen children and the next to the youngest daughter. She received her primary and secondary education in the Baltimore Public School system completed her undergraduate studies at Bowie State University and pursued graduate studies at the Antioch School of Law.During Jaki’s professional career, she traveled throughout the world while holding responsible positions with the Voice of America Radio Free Europe, Radio Free Asia and Oxfam America. Jaki was a much respected and proficient practitioner in the Human Resources field. She was also a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Eta Chapter at Bowie State University since 1994.Jaki’s vivacious and vibrant personality was magnetic with an affectionate spirit that caused her to be adored by many. Jaki loved life and lived her life to the fullest. Her presence was like a ray of light and when she walked into a room her light shone like a beacon. Her smile was brilliant and dazzling and drew you into her amazing warmth and sincerity. Jaki’s smile was a gift that touched us all.She was truly her mother’s little angel who never stopped telling her mother how much she loved her. She was a joy and comfort to her family and treasured their special closeness. Jaki shared the gift of her last earthly days with all of her sisters and brothers. Those special and precious days were orchestrated by God Almighty, who brought harmony, peace, and joy on the day of Jaki’s homecoming. Her transition from this world was one of triumph, grace and humility and was blessed by the powerful gift of love that she shared with so many.Jaki leaves to celebrate her life, seven sisters and four brothers; sisters, Dorothy Hopkins, Jean Hopkins, Barbara Haralson, Frances Jones, Linda Parker, Mary Hopkins-Navies, Virgilia Holly; brothers, Larry Hopkins, Ellis Hopkins, Arnold Hopkins and Michael Hopkins; two brothers, Donald Hopkins and Everett Hopkins, preceded her in death; and two Godchildren, that she loved dearly, Joe Haralson and Omari Hopkins Navies; one uncle and four aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
