Isadore Clarence Thompson

Isadore Clarence (AKA: Tom, Chip) Thompson was born December 4, 1933 to Franklin Thompson, Sr. and Lillie Jeter Thompson in Greenville, South Carolina. Following a very brief illness, Isadore transitioned from this physical life to life eternal on Thursday, May 4, 2023. Isadore was the third child of four siblings. He attended school in Greensville, South Carolina. Upon finishing school, he enlisted in the United States Army in 1955. He honorably served his country in the United States Army at Camp Elmore in Norfolk. Virginia . It was while stationed in Norfolk, Virginia that Isadore me the love of his life. Frances Wilkerson. On June 9,he married the love of his life Frances Wilkerson, and helped her nurture and raise three young children. In 1961, Isadore relocated his new, ready-made family to Baltimore, Maryland. Later on in life, he willingly helped Frances raise her niece; Marcella Williams. Isadore demonstrated early in their marriage that he had a loving a caring heart by taking on the responsibility of not only a wife , but also in addition of three children. Isadore worked at various jobs throughout the Baltimore vicinity. His last job was a private security company located in Pikesville, Maryland. in the early 1990's Isadore accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and joined New Antioch Baptist Church (Baltimore City) where he was baptized. He quickly became involved in the fellowship and because he enjoyed singing, he became a member of the Men;s Choir at the Antioch Baptist Church . His favorite hobbies were gardening and landscaping. He loved planting and nurturing flowers. He also enjoyed family gatherings. in 2003, Isadore retired and continued to enjoy his love of the yard and gardening. Isadore's wife Frances and his brother john Jr. ,(preceded him in death) He leaves to cherish the memories of three children, Diane Wilkerson, Jerome Wilkerson (Krystal) Phyllis Wilkerson- Davis, (Aaron); Marcella Williams ( niece they raised ); Tyren Wilkerson (grandson) Bailey Wilkerson (great granddaughter); Bryniah Wharton, and Imani Richardson (daughters of Marcella; (great nieces0, two sisters, Carolyn Harris (Richard) of Greenville, SC. and Jacqueline Pellam of Gary, IN., Mamie Distance (longtime family Friend); a host of nieces, nephews and other family and many friends.
