Isabelle C. Hopson

ISABELLE CATHERINE ELSEZY HOPSON, was born to the late Mable and William Elsezy on September 24, 1930 in Baltimore, Maryland. God saw fit to call her from labor to rest on Friday, May 8, 2009. She was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Robert, and Sylvester Elsezy and one sister, Delores Greene.Isabelle, or Iszzie as she was fondly called by her close relatives, received her education in the public schools of Baltimore City.On July 30, 1955, she married the late Otis R. Hopson, Sr. and of that union three children were born: Otis Jr., Michelle, and Rafalia.Throughout her life Isabelle had a giving and caring spirit. She would always send greeting cards on special occasions and holidays and give gifts to family members and friends. She enjoyed spending time in the homes of family members and friends. Moreover, her warm smile and congenial personality touched the lives and hearts of many people that she encountered daily.For about fifteen years, Isabelle worked in the restaurant at Hutzler’s Department Store preparing all types of salads for lunch time consumption. She also worked for sixteen years as a dental assistant at the University of Maryland Hospital (now the University of Maryland Medical center) from which she retired in the summer of 1995. Isabelle loved working in the hospital because it gave her time to visit friends or relatives who might be a patient at the hospital.Isabelle was a faithful member of the Christ Temple Apostolic Church in Cherry Hill, Maryland for fifteen years before joining St Paul Faith Church. About three years ago, she decided to become a member of the First Apostolic Faith Church where her two daughters and on-in-law are members. She loved to travel with her church families to conventions and retreats. However, in 2004 when her health began to fail, she was forced to stop traveling.Isabelle leaves to cherish her memory: on loving son, Otis R. Hopson, Jr.; two devoted daughters, Michelle Hopson and Rafalia Jackson; four grandchildren, Nekasha Knight (Danyel Knight), Steven M. Harding, Jr., Shaun M. Harding and Jamar R. Hopson; and four great-grandchildren, Octoviaiona, Donyea, Dominick Knight, and Jordan E. Harding; two sisters, Mabel Johnson and Nancy Brister; two sons-in-law, Larry Jackson and Sylvester Johnson; one devoted brother-in-law, Cleveland Brister; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends..
