Inez V. Williams

Inez Virginia Bland Williams was born on September 5, 1932 in Crewe, Virginia to the late Harry Bland and Lottie Lee Booker Bland. She departed life on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 after a lengthy illness at her home. Inez attended Nottoway Public School in Nottoway County, Virginia. She moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she received her GED. She worded at Rosewood State Hospital for 20 years until her health begin to fail and forced her to retire. Inez was formerly married to William Edward Boone. To this union, one child was born: Valerie Shenetta. Inez later married Nathaniel D. Williams of Petersburg, Va. To this union, seven children were born: Natalie Denise(deceased), Sheila Maria, Nathaniel Dunbar, Yolanda Inez, Anthony, Claytonia, and Cheryl Arnita. Although Inez gave birth to only 8 children, she was a mother to many. She helped to raise her grandchildrenn: Charlita, Shana, Joel and Britony. She provided shelter to all of her children, and her Children's children. She would feed any oy the neighborhood children who were hungry. Many friends older then her children would call her Mom. Inez's past-time were word search puzzles, playing cards and going to Bingo. Inez Children became her company. Inez would kiss all her children and grandchildren. She was especially fond of her grand-boys, for Inez they were nothing but sugar, sugar, sugar and handsome, handsome, handsome. Inez would often say that death is a debt that we all must pay. If you called her and asked her how she was doing her response would be, I'm breathing. As children we would awake to the aroma of bacon frying and a tune of “ I've found the answer, or Yes I know He Sees and God Cares. Inez at one point attended the Called To Action Ministry under the leadership of Pastor and Founder, Rev. Dr. Josephine Truxon-Ridgley. Inez gave the first offering to the newly formed ministry. Inez would often like to attend church with Valerie whenever she was asked to sing a song. Inez favorite TV minister was Joel Ostend. Inez will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew her. Inez leaves to cherish her memories with grateful hearts, her children: Valerie, Sheila, Nate, Lola, Anthony, Clay and Cheryl. 3 step-children: jimmy, Ramona and Robert; her cousin Catherine “Kitty” who was raised with Inez; 16 grandchildren, 34 great grand-children, 2 great-great-grand-children; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
