Ida Wilson

Mother Ida Wilson was born on April 10, 1924. She peacefully transitioned on February 9, 2026, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of faith strength, love and laughter. Ida was a devoted wife to her loving husband, Henry Wilson, and a loving mother, grandmother, great-great-grandmother, great-great-great-grandmother. She was blessed to witness six generations of her family, a rare and beautiful testament to her long and meaningful life. Her strength and guidance laid the foundation for generations to come. She was well known for her witty sense of humor, always bringing warmth and light wherever she went. For many years Ida worked faithfully in the garment industry. After leaving the factory work, she worked for a family in their home, forming a lasting bond until her passing. After retiring Ida continued to enjoy fellowship and song. For enjoyed she joined the choir at the Waxter Center, where she loved singing and spending time with others. She faithfully attended Community Church of Christ, where she was honored as a mother of the Church. Under the leadership of Bishop Luther C. Moore and Lady Mary Moore. She remained active in her faith and devoted to her family. She was preceded in death by her mother Laura McKinney; her brother, James Wilson; her husband, Henry Wilson, her son William Wilson, Sr; her daughter Ida Galloway; her daughter-in-law, Frances Wilson; her sons - i n- law George Douglas Jr. and William Galloway. Her grandchildren Nadine Wilson, Karen Offer, Tracy Hawks, Marnie Anderson, and Raynold Wilson. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her Marie Douglas and James Wilson; her - daughter- in- law Shirley Melton; her grandchildren; Veronica Jefferson and husband Timothy Jefferson; Ronald Anderson, Jr. and wife Tiffany Anderson; Lauretta Hernandez William Wilson Henry Anderson Lorraine Williams and husband Charles Williams; Barbara Morgan; and husband David Morgan Adrienne Better; Lavon Wilson Latting; Shante Armstrong; granddaughter-in-law Mary Wilson and her devoted caregiver Bunny Mother Ida’s legacy lives on through the six generations she helped build, and her laughter will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved her.
