Howard Augusta Wiggins

Howard Augusta Wiggins, son of the late Ernest Wayne Wiggins and Mamie Maudener Mitchell Wiggins was born on June 16, 1924, in Granville County, North Carolina. Howard departed this life after enduring a lengthy illness on Sunday, August, 18, 2013. Howard attended the Wake County Public School System and moved to Baltimore, Maryland in his early Twenties. Howard was wad drafted into the United States Army in 1944. After serving his time in the US Army, Howard was honorably discharged. Thereafter he worked at Bethlehem Steel where he was employed for forty-nine years. Howard was a member of east Baltimore Deliverance Church. Howard loved to spend time with his family and watch baseball; his favorite team was the Baltimore Orioles and He never missed a game. Howards favorite hobbies were: fixing cars, cooking, sitting on his front porch and helping people. He also enjoyed repairing TV'S, radios and clocks. To many, He was a Doctor, a cook a Repair-man and the Neighborhood cab Driver. He will most affectionately be remembered by his good homemade biscuits and delicious barbecue. Howard was a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and uncle to so many, adults and children alike, not just his biological family. In his Christ like way, he showed love and concern to all whom he met. He was loved by many and was a friend to all. Cherishing the memories of Howard's life are: His devoted wife, Cornelius Wiggins, Sixteen children, Barbara Ann (Pedro) House, Marion (Albert) Davis, Christine (Gilbert) Savoy, Howard Curtis Wiggins, Marsha (Edward) Matthews, Johnthan Quinn, Crystal Johnson, Beverly (Shanmugam) Karalasingham, Howard Charles Quinn, Albert (Linda) Wiggins, Frances Elizabeth Wiggins (Maurice) Russell, Sharon Wiggins, Sandra Wiggins, Augusta Sheldon Wiggins, Nathaniel R. (Pheobia) Wiggins, Cornelius Frances "Linda" Wiggins; two sisters, Gladys B. Young and Dorothy Filmore; three sisters in-law, Mary Wiggins, Stella Wiggins, and Lula Wiggins, twenty-eight grandchildren, twenty eight great-grand children and eleven great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. Howard was preceded in death by three sons, Franklin Benjamin Quinn, Graylin Quinn and Earnest Wiggins; a grandson, Gilbert Gary Savoy, a great-grandson, Raymond Savoy, Jr., and four brothers, Jones Edward Wiggins, Curtis S. Wiggins, Robert T. Wiggins, and James M. Wiggins.
