The Plan of the Master Weaver Our lives are but fine weavings that God and we prepare, each life becomes a fabric planned and fashioned in His care... We may not always see just how the weavings intertwine, but we must trust the Master’s hand and follow His design, for He can view the pattern upon the upper side, while we must look from underneath and trust in Him to guide. Sometimes a strand of sorrow is added to His plan, and though it’s difficult for us, we still must understand that it’s He who fills the shuttle, it’s He who knows what’s best, so we must weave in patience and leave to Him to rest... Not till the loom is silent and the shuttles cease to fly shall God unroll the canvas and explain the reason why--the dark threads are as needed in the Weaver’s skillful hand as the threads of gold and silver in the pattern He has planned. Obituary On Sunday evening, Howard caught the wings of an Angel and exchanged his illnesses for a crown. Accepting Christ at an early age, he remained a faithful servant until his health failed. He changed his address and joined his other loved ones in the heavenly garden. Howard S. Walker, 92, was born in Richmond May 20, 1923. His early education was in the Richmond and Chesterfield Public School Systems where he dedicated 40 years in the Richmond, Chesterfield and Westmoreland County School Systems. He attended Tuskegee University (Bachelors), James Madison University (Masters) and special studies at Virginia Union University and the University of Wisconsin. In life he loved education and music and he dedicated his last 27 years as a musician and choir director for Ebenezer Baptist Church. He served his community through the Boy Scouts of America in Richmond and the Hickory Hill Alumni Association. Howard was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Geneva E. Walker; parents, Littleton Walker and Verna Walker Gaines; and brothers, Bernard Walker (Bootsie), Lloyd and Ernest Walker. He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving son, Dwayne H. Walker; adored granddaughter, Chakenia Carter; special grandson, Kentrell Parker; caring nieces, Carolyn Adrena Johnson, Velda Walker (Thomas) and Irene Taylor; nephew, André Walker; great-nephews, Ellis Johnson, Keith Johnson (Gail), George Johnson (Sandra), Jaquan Walker and Antwoine Walker; great-nieces, Deborah Johnson, Darlette Johnson and Marsha Edmonds, and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
