Herbert Harris Jr.

Herbert Harris, Jr. son of Jeanette Harris and the late Herbert Harris, Sr. Was born in University Hospital on January 20, 1955 in Baltimore, MD. He departed this life on February 12, 2013 after a lengthy illness. “Apple” as he was affectionately known was a student in the Baltimore Public School System. He attended Francis M. Woods public school and Baltimore City Community College. He worked as a Cabinet maker at Waterford, Stanco, GD Laminate and Tops unlimited, all cabinet making companies. He also worked with his sweetheart Jequida at the BP Packing Co. After the witness of the late Rev. Dr. Henry E. Knight, Pastor of the Sanctuary of Believers Baptist Church and Apple's brother-in-law. Apple received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in February of 2010. He exemplified how a Christian should act upon receiving Christ. He wanted everyone to know that he was saved. He studied the word of God. He wanted everyone especially his unsaved family. He wanted everyone to experience the joy that he had in Christ. He was a dedicated and faithful member of Sanctuary of Believers Baptist Church. Apple was so friendly and kind to everyone he met. He would never shake their hands he always gave a hug to show who he was; a person of love and great compassion. His name of endearment for Quida was” BOOP” and her name for him was also “BOOP”. Apple was an entrepreneur in his own rite. His greatest hobby was calligraphy writing. He would make special occasion cards for so many people and he wrote the poems to go with them. He always sought was to better himself. His favorite pass time was playing dominos, pinochle and sequence.. He loved his Boop and the rest of his family very much. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife to of 17 years, Jequida Bell, His mother; Ms. Jeanette Harris, two brothers; Larry Scovens of Delaware and Curtis Harris of PA., three sisters; Patricia Green, Crystal Edwards and Ada Scott all of Baltimore, three aunts; Ruth Bost, Delores Coates and Mary Wynder and a close aunt Hershey Botts whom he loved; two uncles;Hamlet Scovens and Ernest Scovens, 1 stepson; Terrell Edwards; 1 stepdaughter; Tammy Graham, one future Stepdaughter; Charda' PPollit; two step grandsons; Terrell Edwards,Jr. And TaShard Edwards; six sister-in-laws: Shenell Scovens, Cynthia Harris, Louise Murphy, Dr. Gloria Knight, Lois Carter and Darlene Bell; three Brothers-in-law; Ronald Bell, Dwayne Bell and Darius Bell, Fifty nine nieces and nephews; ten great nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
