Hattie E. Laws

HATTIE ELIZA LAWS was born on January 25, 1948 to the late William Sr. and Jannie Bullock. After a lengthy illness, God saw that His child was weary and weak, so He sent His Angel of Death to Bayview Hospital to bring her home to Him on July 24th at 4:30 p.m. Hattie was “Mommy” to her children and affectionately known by her family and friends as “Rudy” through her beautiful eyes and a smile that lit any room she walked into. Hattie received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. Hattie held many jobs and ended her career as a Sterile Processing Technician at Good Samaritan Hospital and retired in 2012. Hattie accepted Christ at an early age at Good Tiding Baptist Church and later joined Israel Baptist Church of East Baltimore. Hattie married the late James Laws Jr., and they were blessed with three children. Hattie was the family Rock, she was understanding, loving, caring, kind, fun, and a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Her love for her family created the atmosphere where these qualities would mature and grow. Hattie had a passion for shopping and going to the casinos. Her hobby was MUSIC! She was the family DJ at events or when entertaining at her house. She would sit for hours and talk about songs, the artist and the year the songs came out, there wasn’t a song she did not know. Hattie opened her doors to many because her heart was pure as Gold. Hattie was preceded in death by her parents William and Jannie Bullock, (husband) James Laws Jr., (son) James Laws III, and brothers Theodore, William, Maxie and Rickie Bullock. Hattie leaves a Legacy of Love: son, Michael; daughter, Robin; son-in-law, Tony; two special sisters, Dolvin Davis, and Deborah Bullock; six grandchildren, Sheureka (Muff), Travis, Michael Jr., Jamie, Gernard and Erica; eight special great-grandchildren, Mykell, Vickya, Makai, James, Jayden, Jru, Kyree and Sienna; special nieces, Kam (Ivan), Kea (Ellis) and Dorothea (Rea) Watkins; special friend, Honey; and a host of relatives, special friends and co-workers.
