Hattie B. Mayfield-Warren

Hattie Chambers Warren, daughter of the late Maggie Chambers Westbrook and Robert Chambers, was born on April 11, 1936 in Chester, South Carolina. She peacefully passed from this life on May 30, 2004.Hattie received Christ at an early age. She was baptized at Mt. Zion (Crossroads) Baptist Church in Blackstock, South Carolina, and raised in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland under the leadership of Rev. Thompson. She became one of the founders of New Pilgram Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Black, then later moved to New Jersey and became a member of the True Vine Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of the choir and trustee board, under the leadership of Rev. Grady.Hattie graduated from Dunbar High school in Baltimore, Maryland. She continued her education at Loyola College and Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. She also attended Monmouth County Bible Institute in Monmouth, NJ.She held several job positions such as a teacher in the Baltimore City Public School; a counselor at New Directions of Women in Baltimore, Maryland; and a certified health aide in Neptune, New Jersey.Hattie was a loving woman who could hold a conversation with anybody. She always left a lasting impression. She was very talented, and loved to cook and sew. She was also known for her love of dancing, and was the life of the party.She had a warm, caring, loving and giving spirit. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She will truly be missed by all of the lives that she touched, but never forgotten.She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted husband, Charles O. Warren, Sr.; her daughters, Denise McPherson (Bruce) of Baltimore, MD; Rochelle Barnes (Anthony), LaShawn Mayfield, both of Asbury, NJ; Linda Warren of Kansas City, MO; Carolyn and Evelyn Warren of Richmond, VA; sons, Andre Mayfield (LaTonya) of Baltimore, MD, Charles, Jr., Milton and Malcolm Warren of Richmond, VA.; loving sisters, Fannie Coleman (Claude) and Hattie Lee Ingram; brothers, Herbert (Barbara) Westbrook, William (Mary) Westbrook and John Westbrook; twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, affectionate friend, Joyce Meredith, favorite nephew, Duane Coleman and a host of relatives and friends.
