Harriett E. Townsend

HARRIETT E. TOWNSEND, daughter of the late Lillie Logan Key and John Phillip Key was born on June 13, 1952 in Baltimore, Maryland. She gave her life to Christ at an early age. Harriett was called home on April 14, 2011 after a lengthy illness to become one of God's Heavenly Angels. She received her education through the Baltimore City Public School System. She married the late Carl Linwood Townsend. Harriett was employed at Solo Cup Company tor thirty-two years until her illness lead to her retirement. She took great pride in being well liked and a hard worker. She was a non-judgmental, open, caring, loving and down-to-earth woman with everyone. Harriett was a proud loving mother to her children. She was definitely a phenomenal women to everyone she encountered She loved to cook and would open her home to those in need of good meal, a hug or a listening ear. She would have you patiently waiting to get some of her fried fish and the best homemade ice tea that only she could make. While waiting you could rest assure that she would keep you laughing. Once you met Harriet you could not help but to love her and never forget her. She would leave you with thoughts of her style, always meticulous about her her hair and nails and loved to shop. She was a mother to all, at the same time she would tell you what you needed to hear and not just what you wanted. She was one-of-a-kind. Harriett had a undying love for her children, grandchildren and her great-grandkids. She will be sincerely missed by everyone who had the pleasure of being in her presence. Harriett walked through the pearly gates to reunite with her mother, Lillie; her father, John; son, Preston Darnell; three brothers, Frederick, Alonzo and George; and her granddaughter, Key-esha Key. She leaves to mourn: one son, Marvin Jerome Key, Sr.; one daughter, Monique Sherrie Townsend; five sisters, Patrica, Mary, Rebecca, Freda and Denise; three brothers, James, John and Robert; seven grandchildren, Marvin Jr., Towlya, Danell, Jalyin, Tyson, Harvey Jr. and Sincere; two great-grandchildren, William and Darnell; five goddaughter, Barbara, Darlene, Sha-Tavis, La-Risha and Kadejah; her best friends, Elaine Gardner and Clarice Pope: and a host of other relatives and friends.
