Harold Roger Cotman Jr.

  Harold Roger Cotman, Jr. was born May 9, 1961 in Mechanicsville, Virginia to the late Harold Roger Cotman, Sr. and Ms. Delorise Marie Cotman. He spent his early education at Washington & Henry Elementary and Lee Davis High in Mechanicsville, Va. At the age of 10, Harold was baptized at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he was active in youth activities, including the youth choir. In later years, he was employed at the William Byrd Press in Richmond for many years. He later worked for the C&W Septic Tank Company where he acquired his life-long skills and knowledge in that industry and developed his skills and training and later established his own private septic tank business. Harold became very successful in that venture until his health began to fail. Although never married, everyone especially took to him and his jovial and fun ways. All the kids loved him too. He had a winning personality with the young ones as well as adults and was rarely lost for words. He had a jovial personality and made friends with ease. He also loved to cook and was known for his cooking talents. Harold took a lot of pride in cooking and especially loved to surprise his mom on a Sunday with a surprise noon or evening meal. Harold also loved sports....football in particular. A diehard "Redskins Fan", he had the pleasure of traveling to Washington D.C and other places as often as he could to enjoy a live game." In addition, auto car racing was another of his favorite pastimes and over the years, he made quite a few treks to auto stadiums too for some exciting days of "fun at the races." Harold was preceded in death by his father, Harold R. Cotman, Sr., his sister, Angela Cotman-Givens; and one son, Antonio Wallace. He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Harold “Trey” R. Wallace; one daughter, Tiffany DeShawn Birchett; one grandson, TaShawn; two granddaughters, Annia and Kalonie; a loving mother, Delorise Marie Cotman two brothers, Jerome (Sheila) and Darryl;; aunts, Nora Hampton, and Joyce Bradby; great aunt, Mammie Hamilton; uncles, Wilbert Underwood (Celestine); Lawrence, James and Thomas Cotman, and a host of nieces, cousins, one nephew, and many friends, to include Harold's best friend from youth, William Storrs who remained his best pal until his death.
