Gwendolyn Karen Kelly

Our beloved GWENDOLYN KELLY was born September 27, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of Irene Savage and the late Randolph Savage. She departed this life on June 16, 2013. Gwendolyn also known to everyone as “Dimples” was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. In the early 1960’s she married Leroy Kelly. Gwendolyn was a very dedicated worker and held various jobs in many different fields to support her family. She worked as a federal government employee with the Social Security Administration, then moved on to explore her true passion by starting her own in home licensed day care business. Gwendolyn will always be remembered for being a very caring and nurturing day care provider to the many kids who lives she touched. In addition to being a licensed day care provider she held a part-time job as a cashier at the Baltimore Arena, this is where she meet Sherri, her adopted daughter. Her hard work continued at Union Memorial Hospital and then she eventually retired from Genesis Eldercare in 2005. Gwendolyn “Dimples” would always give a helping hand and her door was always open to those who needed a place to stay. If you ever had the pleasure of sharing a conversation with her then you were blessed to see that one of a kind smile that could light up a room. She would not hesitate to speak her mind, but was always willing to lend listening ear. She was known for hitting the road in search of a good sale as she loved to shop and play the lottery. Dimples was known for her delicious potato salad and didn’t mind sharing her recipe. Gwendolyn leaves to cherish her memory: her loving mother, Irene Savage; her three sons, Kenneth (finacée Darlene), Steve (daughter-in-law Talear and Mike (finacée Annie); three sisters, Florene, Renee and Jeanette; four grandchildren, Kenneth Jr., Taylor, Jerrod and Jamal; one great-grandson, Zion; also a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends that meant the world to her, to include her best friend since high school, Michelle. Thank you Dimples for all you have done. You took great care of all your sons. You loved us from the very start with your warm kind and loving heart. Thank you Dimples for being so strong, while trying to teach us right from wrong. At any time if we had a problem you were right there to solve them. You would lift us up when we were feeling blue; thank you Dimples we could always count on you. You were such an awesome mother, the love you showed was like no other. Thank you Dimples for your dear and sweet love. Now you can rest in the heaven above. Love, Your Sons, Man, Turkeybert and Boom Boom
