Gregory Kirk Casey

Gregory “Kirk” Casey was born on August 12, 1957, in St. Stephens, South Carolina, to the late Alexander and Lillie Mae Casey. As a young boy, Gregory and his family relocated to Baltimore, Maryland and he later moved to New York, where he completed his high school education and proudly graduated. In 1977, Gregory answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps Reserves, where he proudly served honorably until 1982. After his service, he returned to Baltimore and pursued higher education at Baltimore City Community College, where he earned his HVAC certification. In 1983, Gregory met the love of his life, Paula Flowers. Their union was blessed with holy matrimony on November 14, 1987, at Holy Mount Zion Church and officiated by Pastor Joseph Mitchum. It was also during this time that Gregory made the life-changing decision to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Gregory was a man full of life, joy, and compassion. Known for being the life of the party, he had a deep love for people and infectious personality. He was a passionate sports fan, especially of football, and had a special fondness for Westerns. He stayed active throughout his life, enjoying jogging, walking, and playing basketball. Above all, he loved spending quality time with his family. For over 30 years, Gregory worked diligently as a maintenance worker. He was also a devoted caregiver to numerous family members, always offering help with a wiling heart and open hands. One of his greatest joys in life was singing love songs to his beloved wife, Paula. Gregory leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Paula Casey; his loving sisters, Cynthia Strauch, Karen Casey, and Gwendolyn Casey; his brother, Barney Casey; and his stepmother, Barbara Casey. He is also survived by his cherished aunts, Sara Adams and Earlene Surgeon; uncles, Hayes Surgeon and William Surgeon; his sisters-in-law, Carol Ann Wright, Virginia Flowers, Rhonda Bell, Sharon Flowers, and Rosa Johnson; his brothers-in-law, Lawton Midget, Jasper Johnson, Willie Flowers, and Robert Flowers; and a host of adoring nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends. Gregory's light, laughter, and love will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
