Grady Wilkins Jr.

Legacy of Love Grady Wilkins, Jr. transitioned from Earth to his Heavenly home on Monday, November 25, 2019. Grady, Jr., was born to the late Grady and Louise Wilkins, Sr. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Charles Wilkins, Sr. Grady, accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age, and was baptized at Saints Chapel in Enfield, North Carolina. Grady served as a faithful member under the leadership of Bishop Daniel and Co-Pastor Elena Robertson, Pastors of Mt. Gilead Full Gospel International Ministries. He was diligently on his post as an usher and always had a smile and a handshake. He graduated from Maggie Walker High School, Class of 1964 as an outstanding basket ball star. Grady furthered his education by attending J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. He served actively in the United States Army stationed in Germany and served his country proudly. Grady was an honored Fireman and retired after 36 years of dedicated service. Mr. Grady was an outstanding tailor; he had a flair for fashion and often designed his own ties and tailored his suits. When Grady entered the room, he had great style and dignity. His warm and contagious personality radiated his character, he was definitely a people's person. Mr. Grady knew how to fix, repair and build everything and anything. He would show his family the before and after pictures of his brilliant work of making things look beautiful. He also traveled with his loving wife to many international countries: Kenya, Madagascar, Tanzania, South Africa, Spain, Israel, Switzerland, Brazil and many more. Grady also known as "PaPa" leaves to cherish his loving memories, devoted high school sweetheart, Shirley (Rev. Wilkins) of almost 52 years; loving son, Darren Grady; daddy's girl, Atisha Jamila, (Bobby); 10 grandchildren; special granddaughter, Joi Mone't Roseboro (David), Taji, Daren (DJ), Chelsea, Tionda, Jordyn, Jullian, Bobby, Jr.m Kaitlyn and Kingston (twins); 3 great-grand girls; Nyla, Aysha and Autumn; brother, Rev. Albert Wilkins (Barbara); sister, Doris Coleman (James); devoted sister-in-law, Rev. Lois Hopkins; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Grady fiercely loved his family and friends and continuously worked to ensure the success of those around him.
