Gloria June Gilliam-Boone

Gloria June Gilliam burst onto the scene on a chilly Tuesday morning in December of 1965-December 7th to be exact.Her parents, Ulysses and Gloria Perkins Gilliam certainly had their hands full with the newest edition to their family. Though Gloria was two years younger than her sister Ruth was, they were virtually Siamese twins-you rarely saw one without the other.Gloria graduated from Archbishop Keough High School in 1983. After high school, Gloria went on to college at St. Francis in Pennsylvania. The Williams sisters would have had nothing on Glo while at St. Francis for she was a star tennis player. After conquering all that St. Francis had to offer in sports and social life, Gloria decided she may as well graduate in 1987 with a degree in Business Quantitative Methods. If your addition is correct, you will notice that Gloria managed to graduate from school on time but that’s about where her timeliness stopped.Known for being a little bit more than fashionably late, Gloria ascribed to the belief that nothing started until she got there anyway. Being the life of the party is a tough job but somebody had to do it and no one did it better than Glo. She loved her club music, Karaoke and dancing.Gloria danced her way to Calvin E. Boone, Jr.’s heart in the spring of 1998. Gloria and Calvin were married on Labor Day, September 4,2000. She loved the two new men in her life very much and welcomed Calvin and Christian into her heart.Gloria used her business savvy to be CEO of her own successful company, Global Mortgage. As hard as Gloria worked she played just as hard. Her love for entertaining, cooking, friends and family was indicative of her huge heart and gregarious spirit.Gloria may have always been late but she was right on time-every time. While we may not know who is running a sprint and who is running a marathon, God does. Gloria sprinted to the finish line packing more life into her 37 years than some who live to be 90 years old.She leaves to revel in the spirit of her love and fond memories: her husband, Calvin Edgar Boone, Jr.; mother, Gloria Perkins Gilliam; sisters, Ruth Gilliam Phillips and Yvonne Hill; stepson, Christian Sterling Boone; grandparents, James and Fernell Perkins; aunts, Renee Smoot, Barbara Gilliam, Brenda Perkins and Vera Townes; mothers-in-law, Vera Caroline Boone; father-in-law, Calvin Edgar Boone, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Vera and Caroline Boone; father-in-law, Calvin Edgar Boone, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Frederica Grant, Alexia Boone, Donna Galmore; brothers-in-law, David Galmore and Wendell Phillips; niece, Clarke Phillips; nephews, Christopher Hill III and David Grant; great-nephew, Alexander Grant, and a host of other relatives and friends.
