Gloria A. Foster

GLORIA ANDRENETTE FOSTER, was born on January 13, 1964 in Baltimore, Maryland to George, Sr. and Sophrano Foster, who both preceded her in death. Gloria was the youngest of eight children. She transitioned from this life on June 9, 2017 at her home, with her sons, family, church family and close friends by her side. "Gloria", "Aunt Gloria", "Auntie G", "Vanilla", as she was affectionately known, was educated in the Baltimore City School System, later completing her education at Lake Clifton High School. Early on Gloria was diagnosed with a disability that would limit her ability for most career choices. But, she knew in her heart that her passion was for helping others. Her zeal for helping others had been instilled in her at an early age by her mother. Her first choice was to be a Child Care Provider. She was well known for providing a loving environment for family members and children all over Baltimore City and surrounding counties. This proved to be a rewarding experience for Gloria, until her mother became home bound. For over a decade, Gloria then devoted her life to providing excellent care for her mother until she passed away. Gloria was a loving Christian, who cared very deeply for her spiritual leaders and church family. She had an enormous personality, beautiful smile and gave the biggest hugs. Gloria loved to cook. She especially enjoyed preparing meals for family gatherings. Gloria had a fond love for music, dance and singing. She was even a member of her church choir. Gloria also had a great love for football. She was a true die-hard “RAVENS” fan. Gloria was a simple, meek, humbled woman with a strong sense of compassion. Her love for her mother was quite evident. She always stayed true to her morals, principals and strong Christian faith. Gloria had a soothing nature and calming spirit for all those she came in contact with; even when she was going thru her own life challenges. She believed that difficult roads, Gloria, was preceded in death by: her father, George M. Foster, Sr., mother, Sophrano L. Foster; two brothers, David C. Foster and Darnell Foster. Gloria leaves to cherish her memory: her sons, Parris Foster and Timothy Taylor; six grandchildren, Shamar, Mykell, Timothy Jr., Cameron, Kyree, and Kennedy; sisters, Rosa Harris, Virginia Pretlow, Wanda Foster, and Margaret Williams; brother, George Foster, Jr.; twenty-four nieces and nephews, twenty-seven great-nieces and -nephews; two great-great-nieces; special friends, Wanda Carroll, Faith Donerson, Kevin Choo, Pamela Taylor; spiritual leader, Reverend Melvin Lee; and a host of other relatives and friends. May her memory shape our lives, inspire us and bring comfort in the days to come.
