Glennise F. Fleming

Life’s Legacy Glennise Fleming was born on September 22, 1959, in Richmond, Virginia, to Essie D. Blake and Arthur Cooper. She was lovingly reared in a Christian home by Robert Ferguson, the man she proudly called father, who instilled in her the values of faith, love, and compassion. Glennise received her formal education in the Richmond Public School System and graduated from John Marshall High School, where she excelled as captain of the cheerleading team. Her leadership and school spirit were evident early in life. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at a young age. In 1998, Glennise united with Faith Landmark Ministries, where she faithfully served in numerous capacities. She welcomed members and guests as a greeter and was deeply involved in community outreach efforts. Through organizations such as Rebuilding of America, she helped distribute clothing to those in need and assisted children whenever possible. Glennise gave fully and selflessly from her heart. One of her favorite scriptures, which she often shared with her son, was Proverbs 3:27 (KJV): “Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.” Professionally, Glennise was formerly employed by Corvel Corporation, an insurance company, where she worked diligently as a Senior Analyst. Her commitment, intelligence, and attention to detail were hallmarks of her career. In her leisure time, Glennise enjoyed reading spiritual books, as well as suspense novels by Stephen King and James Patterson. She loved watching television, working through crossword books, and completing puzzles—building an impressive collection over the years. Glennise possessed a gentle, genuine, and nonjudgmental spirit. Though naturally shy at first meeting, she became warm and welcoming once she felt comfortable. Above all, Glennise cherished time spent with her loved ones. She adored her grandchildren, whom she considered an extension of her heartbeat. A positive role model, she shared stories, wisdom, and love with them, leaving an indelible imprint on their lives. Glennise Fleming will be remembered for her quiet strength, generous heart, unwavering faith, and the love she freely gave to family, friends, and community. Her memory will forever remain a blessing to all who knew her. On January 23, 2026, Glennise was called home to Glory. She is survived by her to loving sons, Robert P. Jones, II and daughter-in-law, Chemeka Jones; and Shawn C. Fleming; six adored grandchildren, Robert P. Jones III, Brayden Daniels, Quinn Fleming, Jeremiah Fleming, Jordayn Plummer and Kendyl Smith; sisters, Pier B. Perry, Arlette Jordan, Kerri Johnson and Danielle Smith; brother, Darian Ferguson (Debbie Ferguson); aunt, Ollie Charity; beloved family member, Cheryl Brown; a host of cousins, other relatives and close friends, Rhonda Jackson and Latrice Tyler; a host of nieces and nephews.
