Obituary Mother Gladys Moore Pollard Mother Gladys Moore Pollard departed this life on Tuesday, July 12, 2016. She was born to Rev. David D. and Mary Moore on August 4, 1921. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert H.Pollard,her parents,and a grandson, Albert Richardson. Mother Pollard graduated from King William Training School as class valedictorian. She f furthered her education at Virginia Union university where she received a Bachelor’s degree in education and she continued on to receive her Master’s degree from Virginia Commonweath University. She also received her PhD in Theology from the University of California. Mother Pollard was a retired teacher of 33 years for the King William County Public School System. She was also a member of the National Teachers Association. Mother Pollard loved the Lord and dedicated her life to him at an early age and attended the 'Rock Spring Baptist Church in King William County. Through the years,she served as a musician at several churches in King William County,Hanover and 'Richmond. She later joined Ebenezer COOLIC under the leadership of the late Elder Benjamin Lewis. While there, she served as the president of the Women’s Council and as a musician. In 1995,she began helping with the establishment and growth of Christian Fellowship Ministries and served in several capacities:Educator with the World Vision Ministries Bible School,musician,and president of the Missionary Department. She also organized the annual Vacation Bible Schools. In 1943, she was united in holy matrimony to the devoted Robert H. Pollard. To this union one child Mary Ann born. She leaves to cherish fond memories:her devoted daughter,Pastor Mary P. Edwards;two grandsons,Ernest C. Richardson(Tracy) of Virginia and Marvin D. Richardson,Sr. of South Carolina;two granddaughters,Phenice Boykins(Melvin) and Tamara Spencer of Virginia; 14 great-grandchildren, Delanie and Sean Richardson (Brittney) of Virginia, Bryan Richardson (Kiara) of Texas, Da'mon Richardson of California,Darrian Richardson of Georgia,Jalicia, lris, and Staci Richardson of South Carolina, PFC Marvin Richardson, Jr. of North Carolina,Melvin Jr. and Josiah Boykin, Taylor Lowery, Joshua Washington, and Edward Davis,Jr., all of Virginia. two great-great grandchildren, Stephanie Richardson of Virginia and Brayden Richardson of Texas seven nieces, Mary Acree (Linwood), Julia Davis, Annie Garrison, Carlissia Lemons, Mildred Berkley Carolyn Branch, Doris Artis(Lawyer),all of Virginia; three nephews,Benjamin,Jr. Rev. Clarence (Viola), and Carl (Rhonda) Moore, all of Virginia; a host of other great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
