Gladys Beatrice Baugh

It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Aunt GLADYS BAUGH, who left this world on October 9, 2023, at the remarkable age of 105. She was a true testament to a life well lived. Born on May 7, 1918, in Cambridge Md., Aunt Gladys graced this world with her presence for a century, and during that time, she touched the lives of countless people. She was not only a devoted wife, but also a loving aunt, a faithful churchgoer, a lively enthusiast of casinos from Las Vegas to Atlantic City. After graduating from high school, she embarked on a career in nursing, a path that allowed her to bring comfort and care to the lives of those in need. For years, she served as a dedicated nurse at Spring Grove State Hospital, where her nurturing spirit and tireless dedication were cherished by her colleagues and patients. In addition to her many passions, Gladys had an undeniable love for casinos. She enjoyed the thrill of the games and the vibrant atmosphere, from the dazzling lights of Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Aruba and many other places of adventure. Her visits to these destinations were always a source of great joy and camaraderie with her husband, Allen and aunts and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Allen Baugh and although she deeply missed him, their love story continues now in eternity. As we bid farewell to Gladys, we are reminded of her enduring legacy of love, kindness, resilience, and her zest for life. Her century on this earth was a gift to us all, and we are grateful for the time we had with her. Though she is no longer with us in person, her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Gladys is survived by a god-daughter, host of nieces, nephews, cousins, a very special care taker, Helen Thomas and friends who will carry her memory forward, honoring the legacy of a remarkable woman who embodied love, compassion, and a spirited sense of adventure. We find solace in the knowledge that she is now reunited with her beloved spouse, “AB” (Allen), in a place of eternal peace. Farewell, dear Aunt Gladys You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will live on in our hearts forever, alongside the memories of your joyous casino escapades.
