Rev. Georginia B. Esters

Rev. Gina Barbara Esters, daughter of the late William and Mary Upton, was born on February 18, 1948 in Baltimore, MD. On December 18, 2016, Gina was called home to be with the Lord. Gina received her education in Baltimore City Public School System. She received her Local Preachers license from St. John C. C. Church on December 22, 1974. On August 8, 1975, Gina received her Evangelist Certificate. She graduated from Virginia Theological Seminary in 1976. The United Council of Community Churches of Maryland and Vicinity granted Gina her Elders License on August 14, 1977. On January 22, 1978, Gina was ordained as Reverend Gina Barbara Esters by the Council of Baptist Churches. Rev. Gina Esters pastored Esters Memorial Temple in 1977. Her passion for decorating inspired her decision to complete a degree in Interior Design. She met her beloved husband William M. Esters in April 1969. William and Gina were married on October, 25, 1969. They had four sons, Donald, Marcus, (preceded her in death in 1975), Anthony, Sr., and Eric, Sr. Rev. Gina Esters was affectionately known to everyone as “Gina”. She made numerous friends wherever she went and will be truly missed by everyone who knew her. She had a unique way of making any situation better by injecting laughter. Laughter was her way of lightening burdens. Gina was a selfless, kind, giving, loving, and faithful woman who stood firm on her faith in God. She was also a spiritual advisor and counselor to many. Gina loved family, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sister. Gina was preceded in death by her sister Diane Smith; four brothers; Phillip Upton, Gregory Upton, William Upton, and David Upton. She leaves to mourn her devoted husband, William M. Esters, Three sons, Donald Herman, Anthony Esters, Sr., and Eric M. Esters, Sr.; Two daughters-in-law: Veleka Esters and Michelle Esters; Four grandsons: Anthony Esters, Jr., Marcus Esters, Eric Esters, Jr., Terrell Lewis; One grand-daughter, Erykah Esters: Five great-grandchildren: Anthony Esters, III, Myla Esters, Gia Esters, Kai Esters, and Malani` Lewis. Three brothers; Wade Upton, Charles Upton, and Ronald Upton; Two sisters: Lorraine Upton and Harriet Upton and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Although you're gone, We are not alone, And never shall we be, For the precious memories of the bond we shared, Will never depart from us. Our love surpassed the ups and downs, And helped us along the way, And that same love will give us strength to manage this loss each day.
