Georgia Mae Rhem

Georgia Mae Rhem was born on July 25, 1935 in South Carolina, where she attended Lake View High School in Columbia, SC. She was a loving wife, mother, devoted grandmother, and a faithful servant of God whose life was a beautiful reflection of compassion, grace, and unwavering love. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Mary Freeman of Columbia, South Carolina, her husband Marvin Rhem, Sr, her son Marvin Rhem, Jr, and her grandson Marvin Rhem, III. She leaves behind one brother Jerry Freeman (Michelle), one daughter Barbara Jackson (Rayland), two sons - SFC William Cleveland Rhem, Sr (Helen), and Terry Rhem, one living birth sister Jessie Lee Roseboro from North Charlotte, NC, five grandchildren - Jasmaine Rhem, Concella Greene, Anton Rhem, William Cleveland Rhem, Jr, and Samara Anderson (D’Wayne), seven great grandchildren- Salim Louis (Keyana), Sajah Louis, Christian Greene, Cheyenne Smith, Makayla Rhem, Makhi Rhem, and Dawnye Anderson, two great great grandchildren Sayana Louis and Samir Louis, and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She dedicated many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse, caring for others with a gentle spirit and a giving heart, always putting the needs of others before her own. A proud and devoted Past Matron of East End Chapter Number 79 Order of the Eastern Star Prince Hall Affilliation and lifelong member of St. John Baptist Church, Richmond, VA, Georgia walked in faith and service, guided by strong values and a deep love for her community. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially collecting dolls and baking delicious cakes that brought smiles to those around her. She will be forever remembered for her famous macaroni and cheese and her layered pineapple cake—meals made with love that brought family together and created lasting memories. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter, and fellowship. Georgia leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and kindness that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit remains, watching over her family and resting peacefully in God’s eternal care.
