George P. Brown

George P. Brown, son of the late Clarence A. Brown Sr. and Rosie E. Bowser, was born on September 29, 1937 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this earthly life and God granted him his two wings on April 2, 2008.He received his early education in the Baltimore City Public School System and graduated from Douglass High School. He joined the church at an early age and was a faithful member of the St. Ann Roman Catholic Church.After graduating from high school, George joined the United States Air Force where he completed four years and finished with an honorable discharge.George was employed as a produce manager for Acme Markets where he worked for thirty years until retirement. Shortly thereafter he went to work for the Maryland Racetrack for ten years.George was introduced to the “love of his life,” Louise, by his sister Dorothy n the early 1950’s. Friendship blossomed into love, and on August 13, 1958 they took a leap of faith and entered into Holy Matrimony. Their marriage has lasted fifty years, and from this union three children were born; Phillip, Darryl and Phyllis. George had a great love for his daughter, the late Michelle Williams Brown.His favorite pastimes were fishing, traveling and entertaining his friends and family. During his later years, George enjoyed watching television. His favorite channel was the Game show Network and being in court with Judge Mathis from 1:00- 3:00pm“Indian Boy” or Pop Pop,” as he was affectionately called, was a wonderful, fun-loving man who believed in family values and had a strong will to live. He was anchored in the Lord and trusted God with all his heart.George P.Brown leaves to honor his legacy; his wife of fifty years, Louise R. Brown; two sons, Phillip C. Brown and Darryl K. Brown; daughter, Phyllis E. Brewer; son-in-law, Charles A. Brewer; three grandchildren, Lemmuel West Jr., Jada D. Brewer and Phillip Brown Jr.; four sisters, Viola V.Bowers, Eleanor G. Yelity, Dorothy L. Hatcher and Marlene R. Thompson; brother, Clarence A. Brown Jr.; two sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, one aunt, one uncle, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
