Geneva B. Fountain

Her Life & Legacy Geneva B. Fountain was born on June 2, 1931, in Louisa County, VA. On September 1, 2023, she heard the voice of God saying to her "Geneva, it’s time. I've held off long enough. It's time that you came home. Everything is ready. Your place has long been prepared. So, come on Home." And, with that being said, she walked through the gates of Heaven. She was the fifth of six children born to the late Joseph and Ellen Bolden. She was educated in the Louisa County Public School System. Although she retired as a seamstress from Crawford Manufacturing, she worked many jobs to sustain her family. Her main job was that of a seamstress, she would also work other jobs to provide for her children. She was No stranger to Hard Work. She worked as a Housekeeper, Office Cleaner, Seamstress and lastly a Nursing Assistant at the Eastern Star Nursing Home. After her children reached an age where they could be more independent and always with the aid of Community (especially her siblings) she would work multiple jobs at once. Never complaining about the work as she had a goal in mind, which was to provide for her children. Having accepted Christ at an early age she joined the Trinity Baptist Church Family under the Pastorate of the late Rev. K.D. Turner. She strived to live the words to the song, "If I Can Help Somebody as I pass this Way, then my living shall not be in vain." It was through serving others and continually learning of and leaning on God that she demonstrated her love of Christ. She found great satisfaction and joy in serving on the Sarah C. Turner Memorial Missionary Society as an active member and past president. Through this ministry she was able to assist those in need while sharing the word of God in a direct and meaningful way. She served there until her health no longer allowed her to do so. She also enjoyed serving in the Children's Nursery from its beginning, for over thirty years, as well as in the Soup Kitchen and on the Prayer Line Ministry. She was faithful in attendance to both Wednesday Night Bible Study and Sunday School as each activity afforded her an opportunity to put into practice what she believed God would have her to do with her life. Geneva enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, Cooking making Seafood Salad, Fried Apples, Pound Cakes from scratch, Fried Chicken, Roast Beef with gravy and occasionally Chitterlings. A good game of Dominoes, buying shoes and catching up with others (by telephone, in a letter or in person) were good times for her. She was exceptional when it came to sewing. If you needed something that she could make, consider it done. She enjoyed watching The Steve Harvey Talk Show, but she really, really, really enjoyed watching her favorite program, Judge Judy! She was also a member of the Eastern Stars, The Neighborhood Watch and Cap-up Senior Connections. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as four of her five siblings; James R. Bolden, Sr., Deacon Joseph Bolden Jr., Earl Louis Bolden and Mary Ethel Mason.Geneva leaves to cherish her fond memories two sons, Lindsay A. Fountain, Stanley V. Fountain, Sr. (Eva); one daughter, Phyllis Mae Fountain; four grandchildren, Michael L. McDaniel, Michelle L. McDaniel, Stanley V. Fountain, Jr., and Stephen A. Fountain; one great grandchild, Mykya McDaniel; one sister, Arlene B. Jackson; one niece, Veronica Kai Jackson; three nephews; Leon L. Jackson, Jr., and Lawrence Jackson (Alicia); Lance Jackson (Beth) a combination of five great nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives and friends, among them a devoted friend, Mrs. Dora Bullock.
