Gary Maurice Winslow

Gary Maurice Winslow, son of the late Otis Winslow and Marie Winslow, was born on March 5, 1956 in Baltimore, Maryland. He entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 8, 2005, after a brief illness. Gary received his education at Edmondson Senior High School in Baltimore Maryland. At the age of eighteen, he decided to pursue his love of trucks and became a cross country truck driver for International Van Lines of America. Since that time, he worked for several additional trucking companies. The last position he held was with Best Way Transport. On Valentine's Day, February 14, 1975, Gary met Yvonne Campbell on a blind date. Three years later on July 22, 1978, they vowed their love for each other in a wedding ceremony held in front of close family and friends. Gary brought his three year old daughter Quisha Winslow to the marriage and she immediately became a part of our family. His nickname for her was "Baby Girl." Gary loved his family dearly especially his wife, his mother, his daughter and his grandchildren. Gary, better known to most of us as Curley, made a lot of friends throughout his life. However, he always made it known that Von was his best friend. Whenever she was out of the house and he had no idea of where she was, he would call everyone asking "have you seen Von" until he found her. He was always a true friend and devoted family man. His nieces and nephews loved him and were always glad to see Uncle Curley. In 1980, Curley and Yvonne gave their life to Christ at the Living Word Christian Center. They both later joined the Way of Eternal Life under the teachings of Bro. Mike Thomas. Curley's love for the Lord was real and genuine. He had no problem sharing his belief and love for God. He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Yvonne Winslow; daughter, Quisha Winslow; mother, Marie Winslow; three grandchildren, Keron, Kaila and Kesean; one sister, Drunell Nestor of New York; three sisters-in-law, Dorella Campbell, Fern Campbell and Lorraine Campbell of Baltimore, Maryland; three brothers-in-law, Raymond Campbell Sr., Thomas Campbell Jr. and Okey Nestor of New York; six aunts, three uncles; two god-children, Raymond Campbell Jr. and Carlene Webster-Bell; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. His sister Fannie Bee Moses preceded Gary in death.
