Forrester C. Valentine

Forrester C. Valentine, son of the late Willie H. and Aramintia Valentine, was born in Bracey, Virginia on April 17, 1932. At an early age he was baptized at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church of Bracey, Virginia and later attended St. Matthew’s Church of Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on February 2, 2004 after a lengthy illness.Forrester attended the public Schools of Mecklenburg County, Virginia. He attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Arts from St. Paul’s College of Lawrenceville, Virginia. Forrester then served on active duty in the United States Army in South Korea.Forrester settled down and established his home in Baltimore. In 1957 he was united in holy matrimony to Elizabeth Blackmon. As a result of this union, three children were born.Forrester began his tailoring career with Cambridge Tailoring Company of Baltimore. As he mastered his craft, he grew to become Senior Technical Advisor with Tom James Custom Clothier. Forrester had the keen ability to provide the ultimate fit for difficult fitting customers. He received numerous awards and recognition for his over 40 years in the tailoring industry. WJZ TV in Baltimore culminated his retirement with a Gold 13 Salute. During his retirement he enjoyed spending time with family on the farm in Bracey, playing “pinochle” with his friends and family, and exercising with the remote control.The strong, rich and cherished legacy he leaves includes: his devoted wife, Elizabeth B. Valentine; his three children and their spouses, Vincent and Dee Valentine of Hillsborough, New Jersey, Warren and Tehera Wyatt of Mt. Washington, Maryland, and Allen and Wanda Price of Fairfax Station, Virginia; six grandkids, Marcell Valentine, Brooke Wyatt, Miles Valentine, Warren Wyatt, Austin Price, and Noah Price; nine brothers and sisters and their spouses, Herman and Russell Valentine of Portsmouth, Virginia, Bernard and Audrey Valentine of Baltimore, Maryland, Willie and Emma Valentine of Bracey, Virginia., Olsten and Aramintia Harris of Fairfax, Virginia, Melvin and Gloria Valentine of Chester, Virginia, Beverly and Priscilla Valentine of Queen’s Village, New York., William and Juanita Bishop of Silver Spring, Maryland., Melvin and Mary Byrd of Chester, Virginia., Thomas and Valery Valentine of Chesapeake, Virginia; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
