Floyd Michaux

Floyd Alexis Michaux, beloved son of Maggie Lee Lewis and the late Theodore Isbell was born in Lenoir, North Carolina on September 1, 1958. He was one of four children born to Maggie and one of five children born to Theodore. Floyd began his life journey in Hempstead, New York where he completed his education in the public school system of Nassau, County. In April of 1988, Floyd met and married Robin Allison Parsons in Greensboro, N.C. and together they migrated from Greensboro to Baltimore, Maryland. From this union one child was born: Kristin Hope Michaux Once firmly established in Baltimore, Floyd and Robin found employment to support their family. Floyd found employment wtih Rockingham Construction doing overhead and underground wire work and Robin taught school in the Baltimore County Public School System. Some years later Floyd became incarcerated and spent twenty-two years at the Maryland House of Corrections in Jessup, Maryland. While incarcerated, Floyd gave his life to Christ. Floyd used to say that a person who has not spent time in prison may assume it is a cesspool for criminals as he once did, however, after spending many years incarcerated he came to the realization that all people in prison are not guilty because he was not guilty. In addition, Floyd felt that many seek redemption for their mistakes and consciously work to become better men. This sentiment epitomized Floyd because he stated that while in prison he came to know God in a more personal way. God blessed him to meet and make many close friends. Upon Floyd's death, he was able to testify that he had learned to trust totally in God because God loved him in spite of and had granted him grace and mercy daily. Floyd departed this life on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Bon Secours Hospital. He leaves to cherish his memory: his former wife, Dr. Robin Michaux; his beloved mother, Maggie Lee Lewis; eight children, Kamika (Robert), Stacey, Alexia (Abdul), Teresa, Terrance, Kristin (Jerome) Skyler, and Chadley (Stacey); two sisters: Belinda and Vickie; five brothers, Mitchell Roger, Theodore, Chad and Troy; twenty-six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
