Flossie M. Fenner

On Monday, December 26, 2016 an angel with soft hands came and closed the weary eyes of our beloved FLOSSIE MARIE FENNER and opened them to behold the God whom she loved with all her heart. Flossie Marie Fenner was the first born January 18, 1927 in the family of seven to Virter Star Seaborn of Emporia, VA. she was married to the late Fred Fenner and moved to Baltimore, MD for 52 years until his death in May, 1944 and during this union six children were born. Flossie loved her familly and lived a full life with the challenges that faced her growing up in the Great Depression with the Model T Ford crank up and striving then to live to experience the latest technology in 2016. Flossie was a member of the New Mount Carmel Baptist church where she worshipped for many years. She served many positions and enjoyed being a member of the missionary board serving those in need. Flosie was an avid bowler. During her 50 year USBC and Fairline bowling career she took delight in a competitive game of Duckpins to ten pin bowling. The high point in her evening would be her skill to hit several strikes in a row and score the 200 plus game. Bowling leagues winter and summer with the Senior Flames and The Merrymakers took them all over the United States to USBC tournaments achieving many trophies, patches, medals and awards. Flossie was a member of the Great Southern Temple number 30 for more than 50 years working with the Daughters to encourage endurance during their times of transition from segregation to integration. Flossie was preceded in death by her mother Virter Star Seaborn; five siblings, William, Ethel, Mildred, Gloutry Lee and Baby Ray; three children, Vernell, Christine and Theresa; five of the eighteen grandchildren, Theodore, Thomas, Margie Denise and Bonnie; good sister friends, Lady Siseretta Thomas, Katie and Dot of the GayTone 7, Rowena and many friends along the way. Flossie leaves to cherish her memory: one brother, Ruben Jordan of Trenton, NJ; one son, Fred Fenner Jr. of Baltimore Maryland; two daughters, Betty Davis(Rahmlee) of Baltimore Maryland and Ernestine Reid (John) of Zion Crossroads Virginia; thirteen grandchildren, Anthony Lawson, Kathy Whittley, Tressie Hollis, Darlene Fenner, William Holmes, Kevin Holmes, Antonio Holmes all of Baltimore, MD., Kenya Winecoff of Charlotte, NC., John Reid Jr. of LA, CA, Tangela Rae, Quianna Feaster, Tanesha Howell, Ericka Brown of Baltimore, MD and over thirty-nine great-grandchildren, over twenty-nine great-great-grandchildren and sister friends, Elizabeth, Mildred, Woods, Ruth; and many relatives and friends along the way.
